In-ears are good for recording (no bleed whatsoever) and good for listening to your iPod (when jogging or whatever). Make sure you have a certified tech make the wax impressions of your ears; it is very important to have a perfect fit. I'm sure Scott can give you details on where to go to.
I had the company (mine are made by Earproof) make the cable a bit longer so I have a bit more room to move. Comes in handy when you're working behind a mixing desk or when you want to have the cable run under your shirt.
