For once my memory served me well! I needed a set of speakers for the docking system at my fiancee's place and remembered this discussion. I ordered the BXR1221 through Amazon (actually from Tiger Direct) based on Mac's recommendation.

I just hooked them up. First thing I did was watch and listen to CharlieG's videos again as well as some internet radio. They are sweet. They lack the bottom of the speakers on my home docking station, a Cambridge SoundWorks 2.1 system, which has a much larger sub (which I also believes goes down to 120 Hz, as opposed to the Altec's 180), but they have much more top end, lending a brighter quality to my program material.

They are also surprisingly loud considering their rated 2W power for the satellites. Now I don't have to go to fiancee's PC and listen from there, and they will carry into the next room as well. For $30 with shipping, I don't believe I could have done better. Finest kind!
