I finally fixed a problem that has been a major stumbling block and major aggravation for me ever since Vista and Windows 7 was released. For those lucky enough to have a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz card and a Yamaha DBXG-50 daughter card, as you know these products have been discontinued and they stopped providing drivers for the Santa Cruz after Windows XP. No Vista or Win7 support at all as stated by Turtle Beach.

I found a site in China where someone has written drivers for this sound card and others for Vista and Win7. It looks like they only support 32bit but then again 99% of the site is in Chinese. No problem as he provides JPEG pictures of how to install the drivers.

I downloaded the drivers for the Santa Cruz card, there are 2 of them you need. One for the card and and one for the Game Port. I followed his pictorial instruction using a new virgin install of Win7 32 bit.

To my surprise and delight, the card works for both Audio and Midi output. It recognizes the DBXG-50 daughter card and the midi is so far superior to any softsynth on the market for 1 simple reason: It is hardware based.

I tested its operation in both BIAB 2011 for MIDI and Realtrack output and Tabledit for MIDI output and so far have found no problems.

The generic ASIO drivers, ASIO4ALL seem to work using these drivers also with no problems at this time.
