Right on, Mac. Years ago the drummer I worked with a lot would key to my left foot because the bass player who was decent would lose it sometimes on tricky latin funky stuff and now the current drummer I work with who's really good does the same thing but he watches my left hand. Since I'm left handed my body rhythm must show best on my left side I guess. I always set up to the drummers right now. For drummers it really is all about the bass player, if he's good and solid no problem but if he isn't it's big problems. The best bass players are not always available. Now that I'm talking about this, a month or so ago we worked with a drummer I hadn't seen for a while. He's usually pretty good, he's on one of the live songs I posted maybe 3 years ago. This time he dragged horribly and was driving us nuts but we had a really excellent bass player and I told him I was following him and if the drummer can't keep up, too bad. That was a tough gig I'll tell you. We would have been better off with Biab on my laptop.
