When I go to the MIDI dialog box,and when I use the wizard, it only finds the GM...I think I've done a proper install on my HP XP laptop, but I can only select GM patches.
Any ideas?

Hello,
You'll want to use the DXi version of the VSC, so in the MIDI/Audio Driver Setup window, check the "Use VST/DXi Synth" checkbox, and the "VST/DirectX Instruments/Plugins" window should appear. You'll want to select the VSC DXi in the top drop-down box, under the word Plugin.

Not sure if this is relevant, but the VST module wasn't installed on my Win7 64 bit system at all. Trying to do a re-install just gives me a "nosupport" error message.
So when can we expect a 64 bit version?

You have a copy of the Coyote VST as the 64 bit 'solution'.
There are no plans anyone is aware of for Roland to release a 64 bit midi 'anything'.
In fact, it's my personal and some-what uninformed but considered opinion (in my own way) that midi as a 'mainstream' solution sold and supported by large companies, is DOA. (Dead on Arrival).
Most all of my stuff is now Real everything.
If someone knows of a company taking midi software engines to new heights please let the midi camp here know asap. Said company however, should not think they can actually sell it for a thousand bucks a pop, unless they build it around a keyboard, which is going to cost 5k per...
I'd like to see the best of both worlds...however many people who want midi are going to be very torn between the advantages of 64 bit vrs the reality that the midi software solution they have will not, nor will ever function in the 64 bit environment.

Hi Rich, Roland haven't update the VSC in a number of years, and as far as I know, they're not planning to. The Cakewalk TTS-1 is a great alternative, which you can get by purchasing Music Creator 5 for $39. http://www.pgmusic.com/musiccreator.htmThanks Kent PG Music
