Pgmusic has been trying to do this for years.

Mac's are sold as an all inclusive system, you don't need Band in a Box.

They thwart developers, and for years had no compilers available to even port the system.

And again, you point out the fatal flaw, even if they make it will anyone fork over the money for it?

Lots of schools here have a version on PC's, I practice with a band on Wednesdays and we use their computer to play more complicated midi passages of some parts, and the software is there.

That said, the recent inclusion of support for playing and rendering songs on Ipad, Iphones and new Iplayers, as come in the recent version, and the support for that app, given it's new code to run a server on the computer side, should be a possible inclusion in the next release.

The "make the versions the same" argument rises about 20 times a year, why do YOU think it's so hard to do? I doubt it's due to being lazy.
