I use BIAB in live gigs. For count-in I use a 1 bar Smart Lead-in "a pattern then fill". For some RealDrum styles the lead-in is much louder than the drum track for the rest of the song. A good example is the RealDrum "BossaBrushesPerc^". I'm using BIAB2011 but had same issue in previous versions. I've tried reducing the volume number in the Count-in and Metronome Options screen (suspect this only works for midi) and even tried maxing out the volume on the drum track (to reduce the difference) but the lead-in is still louder. Is there possibly some setting somewhere that can handle this?
Thanks John Payne

John,
I had similar issues wayyy back when. With that said my advice is, if you can do without the audible lead in, drop all together and go with the visual count in. If not I am sure more help will be on the way.
Happy New Year!

Whats that ?
I use a simple two bar click (1,,2, / 1,2,3,4). This sounds as if it could be cooler, as long as no volume problem. So how\where do you set this up?

Opt. | Preferences | Count-in/Met. and the selection is next to "Lead-in type". Note that this will not work if the Drums track is muted (you will get the normal lead-in type).

I never act up I'm always this way! There are so many variables something like this may take quite some time to pin down if at all.I know some of the shots & holds are a little to loud as well. This intro is a fill actually and it also may be too loud to be by itself. The couple of times I tried it was OK.

I've got 2 hearing aids with 4 settings. Or is that 4 hearing aids with 2 settings? If I could find my teeth I'd go out. If I could find my phone I could text my wife so I could figure out where my cane went. And to think a year ago I was just not feeling up to par. At least my hair sort of grew back on the back. I returned the hair piece I borrowed from my 90 year old uncle, he doesn't go out anymore but now he can if he wants.
One thing about a loud intro, they know you're comin' in.

My drummer, who played for Spyro Gyra for thirteen years, considers a loud lead-in a badge of honor.
Seriously though, I agree with the OP that sometimes the lead-in can be a different volume than what you might prefer, so for recorded tracks I often do a little editing in my audio editor. Sometimes I take the lead-in out entirely; only takes two seconds.
But, what to do for a live performance? Have you tried changing the part marker for the first bar to Green? The fills into a Green part marker are often softer than the fills into a Blue one.
