Many territories have laid claim to having the original version. In my version I sing and play banjos (Tenor and Plectrum), mandolins (Napolitan and Octave) and guitar as well as virtual (Komplete Kontrol) Uillean Pipes. I produced this at my home with Band in a Box and Reaper. ****** Song Summary ************* Key=C , Tempo 180, Length (m:s)=3:09 Style is _POPRWLZ.STY (Modern Radio Rock) MelodyCustom Synth is 079 - Tin Whistle, Low, Celtic Folk [SN0704] RealTracks used: RealTracks in style: 1192:Bass, Electric, PopRockWaltz Ev 140 RealDrums in style:RockModernWaltz^2-a:Sidestick, HiHat , b:Snare, Ride, Busy Kick + rhythm accordion

Very enjoyable rendition of this familiar tune. I think the first version I ever heard was by the Irish Rovers. Vocal is good. It could be lowered in volume because it is overpowering your excellent instrumentation.

Thanks. Maybe I remix it. When I started singing in my production, I got complains that my vocals were too low and the words couldn't be heard. Now I'm maybe overblowing.

I agree with the comment about your vocal level. I didn't find this one as interesting as your usual contributions--perhaps this type of song itself doesn't lend itself to much more arranging/personalization as your other work.

Nice trad tune indeed. Your vocal and instrumental performances nailed the vibe. We agree that your vocal is too out front. Great vocal ... just hides the backup. Could be my (Bud) old ears. Enjoyed it! J&B

Very well done, Arri. Hey, I always respect Scott's opinions, but please don't touch that vocal volume. The amazing backing music comes through so well, and your vocal is always so good.

Hi, Arri. Nice cover! I've got... thoughts about the mix, and I'll leave it at that.

Arri, an excellent rendition of this old folk song. Super job playing all of those instruments. Great vocal. I wouldn't change a thing.

So mixed opinions. So I don't change a bit. I agree these simple folk songs are difficult to keep musically interesting, because they are stories, which should keep up the interest. I try to build about the background adding and changing instruments, but keeping the story telling in front.
