Hello fellow musicians! During this wonderful journey through Band-in-a-Box I've found myself using the familiar song title feature more and more. This feature is great for finding styles that are relative to a well known song or artist which really helps narrow down a specific sound or feel I'm going for. Despite this feature coming out roughly 9 years ago I'd like to hopefully answer any questions regarding the use of this feature as well as provide some clarity as to what it can and cannot do in this post.
First off, to use this feature in Band-in-a-Box, you can go into the StylePicker (MultiPicker Library). Near the top right of this window dialog you will see a search bar separate from the filter string. This search bar will have 3 buttons next to it - Enter | Find Titles | Request.
1. Enter - Start by searching a song title or artist name (make sure to use correct spelling of these titles for best possible results). Once you have found the song you want, simply click on the title once to highlight, then click the Enter button to the right of the search - this will apply filters relative to the song in your filter string on the left. When searching for songs or artist names, it's important to note that the list we use to search is hand-curated by our team so it will not recognize any songs or artists not inputted by our team directly.
2. Find Titles - First make sure to select and apply a Style to your current song project, then click the Find Titles button. This feature allows you to find song titles based on the current style you have selected, to then get matching Styles based on that - it works almost as a reverse search if you want to find songs to use similar to the Style you already have selected.
3. Request - This button is for making requests to get songs inputted into the list. Click the Request button to get forwarded to our forums on your default internet browser - make sure to login with your forum account (Your customer account is different from a forum account and will require a separate registration) then simply post a new thread in Songs to add to the Band-in-a-Box Song Titles database forum.
Additional notes to consider:
- This feature is for finding similar Styles to the known song in the StylePicker - this does not search for specific RealTracks or Drums.
- Searching and entering the song will not apply a Style that has 100% identical instruments, instead finding close relative accompaniments based on the song's tempo, feel, genre, and time.

I'd never noticed the "Find Titles" feature. That's pretty cool. THANKS! I have used that function many times. It is a fantastic tool.
