I only recently discovered that for a while, Vivaldi's music was lost to antiquity. It was in 1926 that an archivist found a massive cache of Vivaldi manuscripts in a Piedmont monastery. Alberto Gentili, a professor of musicology at the University of Turin, became involved, and he spent years hunting down split segments of the collection until an archive of over 300 Vivaldi works was reunited.

This performance of "The Four Seasons: Winter" has to be seen to be believed.
