Hi all, I'm the lyricist, the composer and the arranger of this jazz ballad. The voice and the trumpet come from Suno AI. The piano comes from EZKeys 2. The drums, the acoustic bass and the acoustic guitar come from Band-in-a-Box. https://soundcloud.com/christian-devienne/behind-the-words RD JazzBrushes RT 732 Acoustic Bass RT 937 Acoustic Guitar
I have always had a problem with low levels on the melody channels. It is always too low. In the past I've got over this with adding an amplifier plugin. However with BB 2026 it seems to me that the plugins added to this particuclar channel are having no effect whatsover. Any ideas please?
First time seeing the video for this one, nice! I love the characters you came up with. Fun song, Marty, thanks for the invite, and thanks to those that mentioned my bit.
Morning folks, 8 bar blues are always fun to play, and the 8 bar format works very well with slower tempos too IMHO. Janice sounds fabulous, and Peter does too, I especially liked his second solo. Good one you three, enjoyed!
The problem is that the demo WMA file is currently named _GINFZZ.WMA and it should be named _GINFIZZ.WMA on both the the local computer and the BIAB Server (For online playing) The style is looking for the correct name of the WMA file otherwise you will get this in the yellow text box. There are no demos available for this style, on disk or on Internet. [2026.1237.0, 3/23/2026 6:19:51 AM] http://demos.pgmusic.com/audio/allstyledemos2/_GINFIZZ.wma . No demo for this style is available on the Internet. [2026.1237.0, 3/23/2026 6:19:51 AM] Simple fix is to just rename the file on the computer from _GINFZZ,WMA to _GINFIZZ.WMA and it works fine for playing the demo locally It is located here: C:\bb\RealTracks\Data\Style Demos Audio NOTE: Mine BIAB install happens to be on my D drive, that's why the attachment shows D instead of C. PGMusic will have to rename theirs correctly for online playing. I have seen this before after new releases.
Re REAPER. weeelll...i still use reaps version 2 cos its all i need. i run it with rb and bb. check out in version 2... ..reaeq ...and reafir also does eq and comp and a bunch of stuff. draw in your own eq curves etc etc. ...js plugins are a huge collection including eq's/comps.. and the kitchen sink from such brilliant folks as stillwell. in summary even in very early versions of reaps there was a ton of included plugins. for any lurkers just go to reaper.fm and dload early reaps versions... eg...version 2... https://www.reaper.fm/download-old.php?ver=2x and for fun...here is where it all began. i started on version 0.98 if i remember... https://www.reaper.fm/download-old.php?ver=0x check out many earlier versions. i'd like a buck or quid or mark etc from people in the early days who said to me... 'its shareware junk' 'cant be good for 60 bucks' etc etc....lol now loads of pro's use it all over the world.. just go to gearspace.com and start a thread.. 'wish to hear from pro studios that use reaper'. youll get a flood of replies. just trying to be fair....i used early versions of reaps with pg's great underestimated powertracks yonks ago and did a ton of songs with the combo as a test bed before i took the demos into a big studio where sometimes interestingly enough i couldnt get a better 'vibe'. i dont use the later versions of reaps cos i love version 2 and dont need a later version. i can even drag into it from my other fav daw pg realband rb tracks...fast and easy....blink of an eye. frankly i use reaps less these days due to advancements in realband. viva la reaps/rb/bb...lol. rock on.... om
WI can always rely upon you to offer your two cents even if it's usually off topic, of kilter and of no particularly use to the discussion. I still use toilet paper but you may bidet.
There you go again! Bear trap mind…. perhaps I’ve suffered one too many concussions! I don’t remember you and David coming around and playing board games! What did we play?….Squatter? (Sounds rude these days), Coppit, Booby Trap (,,,that too!). I think with #9, it was the ghostly sounds, ooh-ohh-ohh and reversed dialogue that haunted me the most. Regards
Thank you for the info on the latest macOS Tahoe 26.3.1 which I just installed on the M5 MacBook Pro. So far the version 2024 BIAB (build 806) has shown no issues.
Hello, I am a massive Knopfler fan. (I have seen Dire Straits or Mark live 87 times, including the final concert at Madison Square Gardens in September, 2019.) Anyway, I did a super quick search (I pressed F7 used the search term "Waltzing Matilda" in the "Type in a familiar song title..." ) and found at least one style that may fit, although it's a little fast in temp at 110 - "MTNLINE" from the xTra Pak 7 released around June, 2019. From the same pak, "HIPEAK: may work. You may find more candidates using this search time (more possibilities EARWORM from xtra pak 21 and RELEASE from Xpro9), but in the meantime, with regard to some of my suggestions... I found MTNLINE at about the 17:00 minute mark here (you may have to slide to the time as it appears it is starting from 0:00 although I have tried to include the exact time in the url). HIPEAK shows up around the 18:34 mark, but there may be other demos from this American (our Country) that may fit the bill. (Again, you may have to slide to the time as it appears it is starting from 0:00 although I have tried to include the exact time in the url). EARWORM is at 4:56 here: RELEASE is at about 8:52 here. I hope this helps! Tom Marvan.
Frank your setup is not like those used by the majority of recording studios. I would suggest you get a USB audio interface.... and one that is multi-client meaning you can run many programs at the same time. See pg tips forum multi-client thread for the typical interfaces used by recording studios. Om
B.D., energetic, passionate and brutally real. You flex a HUGE dynamic range here, and it all fits and flows perfectly. The (amazing) vocals do the whole whisper-to-a-scream thing perfectly, too. The mix is LOUD but perfectly articulate. A very complex song to put together, I'm sure. For the listener, it's just a wild and thrilling ride. Super job!
Thanks a ton, Ron The making of the song was indeed very complex.
It started out as a Rap song (which is why there are so many rhymes), but I'm not Eminem and I never will be.
Then I switched to rock in 3/4 time, but halfway through I got stuck because it lacked the necessary rage. Back to the drawing board.
In the end, I decided on 4/4 because it allowed me to better implement the desired dynamic and tempo changes.
Hi Ron - very listenable! Your 2026 RealStyle choice and tempo has a laid-back feel to it, which I thought illustrated the contrast of small-town-boy from a slower pace in a big city - one can never take the slower pace (or desire for it) out of a small-town-boy. Andrew
Thanks, Andrew. I do tend to race the tempo along more often than not. Sometimes because I have a LOT of lyrics to fit in and I don't want to do any five minute songs. Ha!
A beautiful song. I like the arrangement changes, which keep it interesting. I think the calmer, slower mood of the intro conveys the romantic feeling better than the faster rest of the song. But it's still a beautiful song that definitely deserves a vocal part
Thanks BD. Glad you enjoyed the song and arrangement. It would be nice to have some lyrics but alas, I've come up with nothing so far. Cheers, Mike
Mario, another terrific instrumental. I've played in jazz lounges over the years so I can really relate to your laidback, end-of-the-night song. Those Swam instruments allow so much natural expression. Cheers, Mike
Thanx Mike. The jazz lounge's last song is identical to my wedding bands last song at either a wedding or a bar; during the off-wedding season we played and the veteran clubs and using Notes' terminology "the animal clubs", i.e Moose Halls, Eagle Clubs etc. Yes, those Swam instruments let you play them whereas sample based VSTis do not.
Excellent piece Hans. I would not hesitate to post these quality songs Hans. The melody in your vocals and well crafted backtrack are great listens. Like I said on your Facebook post. I was able to somewhat follow along with the english version of your lyrics. Well done
