Hi Janice, Bud and Peter! Nothing average about this at all! This has a good tempo and feel about - would make anyone standing within earshot want to pick up a guitar and play along. Mojo, juju and gris gris … I learned a few things today. Doubling vocals is cool - for Janice it’s for acoustic feature - for me, a device to cover up vocal blemishes.🥹 A great listen! Andrew

What a great idea for a song! I think MOST of us here can relate strongly to this. Dave was on fire. I wondered about Vic's comment. It sounds like your vocal chain has changed, maybe not for the better. Well, you'll have another song out soon and we can compare. Great work!

Thank you J&B. I suppose there are different areas of blues like there are different areas in every genre. The type I hear around my local venues are mostly the 12 bar, rock. I find that too samey to hold my attention. I need to hear imaginative lyrics and a melody. Before I recorded this I did wonder how Janice would handle it. Vic

Anyone tried the ReSing software musiclover 1 hour ago Forum: Off-Topic
From my brief reading of what it does, seems it take your original vocal recording and will replace it with one of its voices, though will not make a bad recording sound good. There is a free version with two voices as well so might try it out. https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/resing/?pkey=resing-free

Reinstalling the PG DirectX Plugins will probably fix it. You can find the installer in the bb folder: C:\bb\Data\Installers\pgdx_plug_64bit_2_0_0.exe The plugins (64bit) are installed here: C:\Program Files\PowerTracks DirectX Plugins To specifically restore the default PG presets you could run, this (but shouldn't be necessary) C:\Program Files\PowerTracks DirectX Plugins\Save-Restore Presets\RestorePGPluginPresets.exe

+1. It is very hard to understand why they have left a significant issue like this for so long. Especially when being able to find what you are looking for in the database is key to to the whole application ie be able to use all the contents. What is the point of all those styles and RT/RDs if it is impossible to find and effectively navigate through them. I can't see why this suggestion should be especially difficult to implement, it ought to be basics, it is the normal way to do it. (I think they also need to include the instruments RT/RDs information and maybe also some other information that are currently only available in the Memo. If so one could also apply the Hierarchical Nested sorting from an instrument starting point eg RD or RT).

Amen! I started out with ProTools back in the mid 90's. But after a few years, PT left me when they became equipment specific. At that time I found Reaper and have never looked back. I actually try not to advocate for Reaper here in this forum. I don't want to be one of those guys who just hypes a specific DAW and tell everyone how great their DAW is. So I don't want to be the one to tell you that Reap is the greatest, but, Reap is the greatest. grin

Charlie, I had not thought of this option, nice piece of thinking. It so turns out that my arranger keyboard does have a built-in MP3 Player that you can route to various outputs. So technically, this is an option. My keyboard player is a bit overwhelmed with the capability of this keyboard and I'd rather place this added burden on myself rather than her. When I think of the workflow and the possible routing complexities of her configuring and playing the keyboard while managing the routing of the playlist, I can foresee problems. But this was a good idea nonetheless. So far, a small, single-purpose, media player that I would manage seems to make most sense.

“I saw them digging a hole

A handbook of hypocrisy” We much like a well done “connect your own dots” write and this is one. The intensity of the build is excellent. And the video depicts that intensity very well. Your vocals sound great. The orchestra bits are very effective. We love the open mix and dynamics. The soundstage on our Kalis is great. We enjoyed our view of you at the video end. 😊 Enjoyed it! J&B

I believe you are looking for Chord Track / Output chords menu. There are many scenarios how your SD can be set up, but look into BIAB's Preferences >Output Chords. You will likely need to know what range your SD accepts chord data, also what types of chords SD accepts. Options are there.

Hi floyd, I do have a new one in the works, but I want to get these old tunes done first. Normally I wouldn't post remixes, but in the case of these songs that are almost 10 years old, most of the people that hang out here now were not around for the original. Thanks for everything!

I'm not sure I understand your question. I'm pretty new to this. Accompaniment I think. The song I want to play along with is Sunny Side Of The Street. It's in the key of C, the chord in the pickup is G7 and the two note pickup consists of two eighth notes E and D. I will be playing the two notes (Chromatic Harmonica) I have done some looking in the manual and online but have not found a solution. I would appreciate any help. I have BIAB 2025 and a Mac Thanks

Re: Ride the Wave John Walradt 13 hours ago Forum: User Showcase Jump to new postsJump to new posts
Hey, everyone. Lots of comments from all of you who make wonderful music. It's a huge meaningful compliment to see these coming from you. I wanted to answer these for you. John ---------- Re: Ride the Wave [by DC Ron] John, energetic tune with really nice vocals/vocal arrangement. The bridge is a nifty change of pace. Well mixed, too. Can certainly see how this could be an online hit. Belated congratulations! Thank you Ron! When the melody came to me, it seemed like a 60s Kinks kind of thing, but the more I composed the more I thought this thing could really rock! I was already thinking of what we call "the blue wave." ---------- Re: Ride the Wave [by TuneMonger] Wow, this jam has some serious slam! Nice work Hey, TM, Thank you! I really wanted to put a lot of punch into it. I'll pass this onto Shaun Gaffney, who goes by "Arden Snow." He did some serious mixing/mastering on it. ---------- Re: "I'm Not Coming Back," a Motown/disco styled song [by TuneMonger] Another good jam, the vocal was great and that BIAB bass really stood out for me. BGVs were terrific, too. Thank you, TM! I usually have to work at it to focus on the bass. I really tune into the treble clef. That's just how my ears work. So I'm glad the bass came through! I usually don't have to do much with BIAB instruments in EQ or compression as they are already recorded so well. ---------- Re: Ride the Wave [by WaoBand] Great protest rock song! Thank you, WB! ---------- Re: Ride the Wave [by BabuMusic] Nice, John, and the video is as strong as the swong --good match. Every necessary ingredient in a terrific protest song, lyrics in particular and that strong vocal (wish it was more up front, but that wouldn't be right for the genre). Every musician felt the same and you put them all in the right mix. Thank you much, Marty! We remember what real protest songs were about back in the 60s! Now all I have to do is update the video. ---------- Re: Ride the Wave [by vicarn] Love the arrangement. Vocal sounds a little high frequency maybe even with my ears a little short on picking up the high frequency but it could be just down to personal preference.. Vic. Hey, Vic. You're the only one that picked up on the only thing that bugged me! The vocals were a little lower in frequency to start with and I realized after a month or so that Shaun had brought out the higher frequencies a bit in the mixing. I have my tracks but I'd like to get his tracks, too, just to see what I could do with it. But overall it really worked well. ---------- Re: Ride the Wave [by Andrew Dee] Hi John! A good rocker and really suits the protest nature of the song. I can hear the Twisted Sister influence for sure. Andrew Hi, Andrew! Yep, if there's one thing we both know since we're melody people, the tune really has to musically fit the emotion of the theme and words of the song. Thank you much! ---------- Re: Ride the Wave [by B.D.Thomas] Raw and dirty - perfect for a protest song. I love the chorus “No, (No!)”, I can see the crowd shouting along. Enjoyed my listen [Linked Image] Hey, BD! You betcha, raw and dirty! That's what I went for...served like a big sloppy oval platter at a corner diner! Something with a lot of grit and punch! Thank you for your listening and enjoyment of it! ---------- Re: Ride the Wave [by Noel96] Hi John. This is great! An excellent write, arrangement, performance and production. Congratulations on a terrific song. --Noel Thank you, Noel! I just noticed a couple of yours yesterday. "A World of Wonder" is a really lovely song and tells us how we cannot take for granted our time here on earth, and that our planet is on a delicate balance. ---------- Re: Ride the Wave [by MarioD] John, a great rocking protest song. Hey, Mario. Thank you! You remember, too, back in the 60s and 70s we listened to great protest songs. The one that really stood out to me was Neil Young's "Ohio." You know how to jam like Carlos Santana. "10 Below" is a beautiful ride! ---------- Re: Ride the Wave [by Knee Wobbler] Hi John I think I said in a previous post, you’re able to produce some great music that’s spans several genres. Definitely a Twisted Sister rock anthem here, and Mario has excelled on the vocal. Great production. Kind regards Hey, KW! Thank you very much! But watch out...Mario might wonder, "Hmm, when did I do that? Where's my memory gone to?" Actually, that was Matt Orion on vocals. He really knocked it out and I really liked the "I say..." he worked in there. Don't forget, you really come out with terrific tunes. "Red Dirt Roads" and "Without a Word of a Lie" knocked me over! I really like what you've put together and you're among the few that have the unique vocal and delivery, or in other words, your sound. It's what all other artists strive to find.
