Hi Rob Sorry Laurent, this is off topic and Rob threw down his motorcycle glove. I’m sure you can get lemons no matter which brand you buy. I had a 1990s Triumph Thunderbird whilst I was living in England. It was a beautiful bike and I loved riding it around the Norfolk countryside. (Picture attached) I would have like to have had it in Australia but didn’t want to go through all the protocols to export it. Never gone back to a motorcycle, but Laurent’s song and video sure does capture the freedom and feel of flying you get on a bike. What I got back on my bike, I’ve probably now spent on guitars and music equipment. Both very satisfying pursuits. Kind regards. Thank you for the comments and I agree with TuneMonger on the opinion given on Triumph motorcycles in the 70s (this is no longer the case now) We were fans of Japanese bikes, 4-cylinder 4-stroke or 3 or 2-cylinder 2-stroke with a clattering noise but which revved very high. Laurent

Steve, this has been discussed a lot but it is still confusing *to me*. Many folks have posted cover songs to the I Heard it on YouTube forum and the moderators have never pushed back to my knowledge. So the practice is that it's ok. On the other hand, if you click on the Forum Rules link at the top of this page, Rule 9 reads: "Posting (or requesting) links to songs, music or other copyrighted material is forbidden. You are allowed to post links to your own original songs." There is nothing in the Rules that implies that this only applies to the User Showcase forum. Besides, the User Showcase has its own rules posted at the top of that forum. The subject of posting public domain songs has also come up a few times. The general practice is posting public domain songs is ok. But the definition of public domain varies by country, so it's a bit muddy. (Our host is in Canada, so those are likely the right public domain rules to follow.) Plus public domain isn't going to meet the "your own original songs" definition in Rule 9 referenced above. You can always DM an admin. Or just do it. I suspect it's all going to be fine. Thanks for the guidance. I'll probably just put a link to my YouTube channel rather than flood with multiple posts.

Hi Steve! I’m not sure what was more enjoyable - your piece or the antics with your playing partner in the video. Great work, and love seeing you in action in the video. Andrew Andrew- I tried to make it entertaining. I'm glad you liked it. I'm gonna try to do one of those "mask" style side by sides in the near future. Still reading up on how to do it.

Hi Andrew, just a quick response to your reply to my comments: I'm also constantly searching for the right key to sing in. Sometimes I try all eight notes of an octave. But often I end up back in the same key I started in... But then the singing sounds different again, because I always sing a little differently. Yeah, I saw you listened to my new song. Thanks for that. It's a bit different, isn't it? Different Hans, but I like it! In terms of vocals, I go with what I have and no longer embarrassed by it. Lots here to like. You definitely chose the right music and instruments to convey the messages in the hard-hitting lyrics. Good write. And you keep it interesting with varying parts and changes. Everything works well and sounds good, including your vocals. Thanks Scott! When working with the chords and melody and original BIAB RealStyle, I knew I had to make it heavy and the lyrics (written afterward) could be angsty as well, so it turned out to be a good combination. Honestly, Andrew, I'm not a big fan of the grunge style; I'm probably too old for it, but I respect it. I like the theme of the song and the way it's sung. The video supports the message very well. It's beautiful work. To be honest Laurent, I'm not a big fan of the genre either, but I don't mind variety and experimenting with styles/genre outside of my norm to see what comes up - in this case, I've learned about side-chain and 'ducking'. Life-long learning! It's not my genre, but it nails the feel as far as I'm concerned. And your 12.125 note vocal range was more than sufficient to do the track justice. My own 2 cents - Izzy suggested that manually ducking can give better results than Trackspacer, but Trackspacer is nice because you can have it only take out specific frequencies, so the "pumping" effect is minimized (the sound of one instrument going down in volume when another goes up). But if you buy Trackspacer, make sure you get it on sale! Anyway, nice work. Thanks David! Never heard of Trackspacer, but that might be because it costs something - I live at the freebie-only end of town, but I might look up to see what that type of plugin is called to look out for equivalent in free. Thanks for the suggestion! In relation to my vocal range, if we're dealing in semitones, that would make it 15. Trying to be clever, I also wanted to express this in a hz range but got horribly confused about whether I was singing C4 to D5 or C3 to D4 - I think the notation for acoustic guitar is not 'normal' so that is throwing me off. Anywho... it's limited! An accurate observation that reaches beyond Oz. Queen Gina & Prince Rupert are 1st nasties amongst the billionaires' club. Music bites as it should. I like the break down too. Excellent. Thanks Ray! I've become aware of the global nature of this problem, so I'm not sure if it's just a distortion of capitalism (distortion - which is another reason that grunge would be appropriate) or another negative manifestation of the human condition - or both! I usually write a song uniformly throughout, and then when recording and mixing, I start looking for variation within the song to break it up a bit and maintain interest, both for myself and the listener! Thank you to all for listening and your informative comments! Andrew

Great tips! Adjusting the "Natural Arrangement" setting or trying "Jazz Down" might be the quickest fixes if BIAB isn't playing your chords exactly as written.

Glad you enjoyed it and the Ssss was actually me holding back from singing the word 'sh1t' instead of the word 'show'! If you listen you can hear me laughing to myself just after.... I wasn't aware at the time but heard it after reading your comment!! That would explain your signature block.

If I run ACW first, especially if I'm using Equalize Tempos, *then* split the stems, I'm then sitting stems in a track that has already been stretched and edited, right? That's my understanding. In BIAB, the stretching and shrinking is accomplished by using Bar Settings and each bar is given it's own tempo. This is the tempo map. Then when the tracks are generated, BIAB will stretch/shrink the audio to match the tempo map (and the individual tempos in each bar).

Hi, Laurent. As others have said, it nails the groove. Suno did a great job with the vocals and horns. Excellent guitar as well. You extracted the horn MIDI in BiaB? Interesting. Pro mix, sounds excellent.

Hi, Scott. I love the backing track - chugging drums and dancing mandolin. That hooked me in, and then the vocal came in - clever write with a strong chorus. Subtle BGVs. I clicked the link to the original SoundClick song, but it doesn't seem to work anymore. Looks like I missed it the first time around. Excellent work!

This has been covered in multiple threads in this forum. Without repeating what's already been said and discussed, there are now publishers and sync libraries that are quietly building "AI Assisted" catalogs. Not written by, or composed by AI, but assisted in the process by, AI. There's still a few legal issues to be worked out before those catalogs are going to be mainstreamed. Until then, by all means, it behooves one to know, and abide by, the rules of the game.

Floyd, The remix/remaster is stellar. It has that pro studio sound - not sure what that is or how to achieve it, compression, saturation, I don't know - but it's there. The song, the write, the production, it all grabs you right away and doesn't let go. And I love how you closed the loop for the main characters. Not to mention all the fun stuff that takes place before. That's some songwriting talent right there!

Noel, it seems to be very common for musicians to record tracks for use in harsh or exterior environments. One reason I mentioned the possibility is this lets musicians concentrate more on the performance so the audience receives a performance with more showmanship. Either way you still have to be a good musician.
