Something To Die For A song written back in 2009 and posted here in the past. 100% BB/RB tracks. Dedicated to all the Veterans on this day of remembrance. Me and my big brother, after church on Sunday Out in Granny's backyard, playing Army green beret. Climbing in the old oak tree, The smell of supper on the breeze Music drifting through the door... That's something to die for Me & Jeannie Farmer, walking down to Skalseys Creek An old dirt road to a swimming hole, in the Carolina heat. Laughing in the warm night air, she lets down her long brown hair.. She's more than just the girl next door..... I swear... That's something to die for Country, God and family, these things I believe Are the things in life worth living for Country, God and family, what it takes to keep them free Makes everything I do worth fighting for That's something to die for solo (8 bars) Me and my sweet Jeannie after church on Sunday Out in Grannys backyard as our little children play Memories made forever of one more day together Before I leave again .......for war Thats something to die for Bridge: Far away, in a foreign land, A blinding flash in the desert sand. I was diagnosed with cancer recently and had major surgery on Monday. According to my surgeon, I probably won't be dying anytime soon! They think they got it all. But, they're keeping me in this danged hospital bed until Friday or Saturday It's a great song. Totally loved it. And if that ain't country, I don't know what is! And what a powerful chorus! I listened to it several times and couldn't think of a single thing that would make it better. Congrats on a well-written, well-produced and well-performed song. A tip of the hat and heart-felt salute from a Vietnam vet and Army retiree. Wishing you the very best. My Uncle that lived next door to me here on the farm had the distinction during WWII of having the most siblings in our county to serve in the service in the war. Six brothers and a sister all served and somehow, all made it through. Another uncle was shot down twice and was captured near the end of the war. Last edited by Charlie Fogle; 11/12/15 02:30 AM.
