Hello, everybody This is a jazz vocal song. This was recorded about 15 years ago by Natsuki Yoshikawa, our local jazz singer when she was young. I made this song with only MIDI Style because RealTracks were not available yet at the time. Comments encouraged. Have at it. Best Regards. Shigeki Adachi Link: https://soundcloud.com/animarorecords/aino_tabibitoTitle: 愛の旅人(Translation: Traveler following love) Accompanied with the jazz band with horn section of big band style Style is BBND_FST.STY Style MIDI Instruments are: Solo Trumpet: Soloist database Whnt.ST2 Bass(33) assigned to Wood Bass, Piano(1) assigned to Grand Piano, Sax(66) assigned to Sax section, Brass(62) assigned to 4 trumpets & 4 trombones, MIDI Drums: No Drum Patch Change (0) Solo Trumpet, Sax section & Brass section played with Quantum Leap Brass Other instruments played by Kontakt (maybe, sorry no data left) Summary of lyrics While many seasons pass me by I have been looking for your trace And now I am counting stars scattered in the night sky Why had I encountered with you Though there were millions of people in the world And, why my heart is still tied with you In spring we kissed cherry blossoms fluttering lightly In summer we gave cold drops to moisturize our burned skins How bright our lives were shining What a coincidence our encounter was What should I call it if it was not love In autumn I will dance waltz alone with my tears In winter I will need some one’s hot breaths to my frozen cheeks Who am I wandering over seasons to go by I am an eternal traveler in pursuit of impossible love

Very pleasant song Shigeki!! Even though it is a bit more uptempo than your new stuff, I still hear your melodic and structural style in it. Vocal is great. Enjoyed it much!! Take care. Greg

Shigeki,
Although indeed different from your usual work, a very pleasant listen and a very nice vocal.

Shigeki,
I enjoyed this- the backing sounds great for midi, especially the trumpet and the vocals are expressive. Given the musical knowledge you`ve already shared here its no surprise that you are comfortable with a more uptempo jazz song...still, its good to hear something from your past work.

Wow, Shigeki! I agree with Robert, the backing sounds really phenomenal for MIDI. The trumpet is especially wonderful, I love its little excursions and phrases Awesome vocal performance, too. Great job, as always!

Shigeki SO different from your other works but this is still beautiful. You have some good singers in your music circle. As Robertkc wrote I enjoyed this- the backing sounds great for midi, especially the trumpet and the vocals are expressive. Given the musical knowledge you`ve already shared here its no surprise that you are comfortable with a more uptempo jazz song...still, its good to hear something from your past work. Well done again Alyn

Shigeki, this is really just so well presented.
A great swing feel throughout, and punctuated with the excellent vocals provide an absolute highlight to the song.
Great work.

Very pleasant song Shigeki!! Even though it is a bit more uptempo than your new stuff, I still hear your melodic and structural style in it. Vocal is great. Enjoyed it much!! Take care. Greg Greg stated it very well. It has your signature sound but is more uptempo. And another of your great melodies is present. Add to that the fine vocal and you have a great production. We enjoyed it! J&B

Wow, for a midi-only track, it's awesome! Really shows the power of BIAB, even way back then! And the vocals are jazzily perfect! Enjoyed this immensely.

Hello, Janice & Bud, Michael, David and Torrey
Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment. And many thanks for all the positive feedback! I am so glad to hear you like my MIDI work and her vocal.
Janice & Bud, Maybe it has been almost the same the way I write songs for a long time since I was young.
David, Yes, it is a picture of the lady singing it. It is Natsuki Yoshikawa when she was young. The picture was taken at the municipal recording studio of our city about 15 years ago.
Thank you again to all.
Best Regards.

Shigeki,
An excellent uptempo song. As others have said the MIDI backing does sound great. Love the song structure and very smooth vocals from Natsuki Yoshikawa.
Good job, Jez

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks
MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:
There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:
1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track

Review - Band-in-a-Box® 2023 for Windows is Overflowing with Features!
Dennis posted his very thorough Band-in-a-Box® review recently, where he dives into some of the new features added with version 2023: Sound-Guy's Band-in-a-Box Review
Read his thoughts on the Download & Install Manager, partial track regeneration, Playable RealTracks, Audio Editing, the addition of SynthMaster, the VST DAW Plugin, and more!
"Band-in-a-Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is, without negative connotation, a monster of a program. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. No DAW can do some of the things BIAB does, while BIAB can do a lot that DAWs do."
