https://soundcloud.com/alfredo-de-pietra/where-have-all-the-heroes-goneMusic: Alfredo De Pietra lyrics & vocals: James Higgins Where Did All Our Heroes Go We all watch from afar for just a little sign of light But the curtains are drawn and they're pulled close tight From the highest of the high to the lowest of the low Where we once saw hope we can only find fear and hate From hope to fear to hate Oh where did all our heroes go From hope to fear to hate Oh where did all our heroes go From the Hollywood hills to the Bowery slums We've searched high and low but there ain't no one Oh the silver screen has a verdigris sheen Countless million carbon atoms floating round the sky But in god you trust the truth you do deny We used to look to you as a guiding light But your just the same let the blind lead the blind From hope to fear to hate Oh where did all our heroes go From hope to fear to hate Oh where did all our heroes go We all watch from afar for just a little sign of light

Good song! I liked the lyrics alot and the vocal has a nice engaging feel. I listened to a few other tracks from your SoundCloud- very enjoyable (I especially liked your version of Lord Franklin). It seems you have a you have an interesting ongoing collaboration-I look forward to more.

I really like this a lot! I didn't think I was going to like it as much as I do by just reading the lyrics - what a cool song and sound. And I love James' voice and the way he sings this. The arrangement and production is perfect. Sounds like something Paul Simon wrote and sang.
Great collab! Hope to hear more from you two.

I want really thank you all. You all are very kind. I live in Sicily, James in Scotland. We both aren't very young This song came from our discussions and our worries about what's happening in the last months (Brexit, U.S...) and what could happen (...hopefully not...) next months/years in several other European Countries. So, you may consider it as a political song, by some degree... James had the great ability to transform our thoughts into lyrics. Thanks again Alfredo

Alfredo & James,
Enjoyed the listen. Interesting to hear an outside view. A good write. Had the feel of a Springsteen lyric/song form his later acoustic periods..

Hi Alfstone, excellent work on this! I like the guitar noodling at the 1:30 mark, very easy vibe. Good one!
Cheers, Joe

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks
MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:
There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:
1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track

Review - Band-in-a-Box® 2023 for Windows is Overflowing with Features!
Dennis posted his very thorough Band-in-a-Box® review recently, where he dives into some of the new features added with version 2023: Sound-Guy's Band-in-a-Box Review
Read his thoughts on the Download & Install Manager, partial track regeneration, Playable RealTracks, Audio Editing, the addition of SynthMaster, the VST DAW Plugin, and more!
"Band-in-a-Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is, without negative connotation, a monster of a program. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. No DAW can do some of the things BIAB does, while BIAB can do a lot that DAWs do."
