I just installed BIAB 2017 and am trying to set up a simple, worship type song. Every style I've tried has drums that are too busy. I just want a straight kick, hat and snare for the most part with maybe a lead in to the refrain and bridge. I don't see how to do that.

Welcome to the Forum.

There is a "Simple Drums for this Style, no fills" setting. Right click on the drum name in the mixer, select RealDrums in Style, and check the checkbox for Simple Drums. Try that.

I think there may be another way to bring up this option for one song.

This option is for the whole song, so you won't have any fills if you select it, but be aware that fills occur at part markers. Part markers are those blue or green marks at certain bars, which you can set by clicking on the bar number. It toggles through blue (normal) green (busier) and none.

There is also a global option to play all songs with a 'simpler' feel.

Someone else may have suggestions for specific drums that fit your genre (sorry, I'm a jazz player). If there isn't such a drum kit in BIAB, then you can request they make one in the Styles Wishlist forum.

OK. Changing the subject, but I know I saw a Zydeco style somewhere, but I can't find it. I have 2017 Pro.

use the filter and search function. Type Zydeco in the box.

You can find my music at:

If you have 2017, go to the StylePicker window. In the top left, type "zyd" (exclude the parentheses) in the Filter String, then use these settings under that window.

Category, open it and select the top one, "Show all categories", in TimeSig select the top one, "all time signatures will display", do that will all the settings, select the top choice for Feel, Tempo, Type, Other is "Clear all...".

To the right check "Include Similar".

That should open the search up to everything that starts with "zyd", and should (does for me) filter down to 5 different Cajun and Zydeco styles.

I too have 2016 PRO and got the same result. But I selected "Show all styles including N/A (not found) Styles" and it comes up. After doing some research, I've concluded that "not found" means "not installed". For me, the Picker shows 858 styles with no filters and 4,902 when I change the option to include "not found".

I'm curious as to how BIAB is able to demo a style that's not installed.

As far as I can tell, the demo is a .wav or maybe .wma file streamed from the Internet if you do not have it installed already.

Andy A - Tried it. Don't see them. I know I saw them when I first installed the program.

I have Pro. I did what @JoseCuervo suggested and was able to see and demo them. What do I have to do to install them?

Dang it. I'm not an expert (this is the first time I've even tried to answer a question here), but I just filtered them again; all are from previous versions, not included in the 2017 Ultra. FYI, 1 is a RealTracks style, and 6 are Midi sets. If these help:

Set#
RT 26 HANKMID
37 Midi CAJNZD2
15 Midi C_CAJUN
4 Midi GUMBO
48 Midi Mongo1
45 Midi Zydeco1
46 Midi ZYDECO3

*I may have figured it out. They probably are not included in Pro. You can buy each set separately as Add Ons ($29 each). For example Set# 37 Midi will have CAJNZD2, plus a dozen or a couple dozen other styles (CountrySpitShine and HeJazzedMeButHeDontHasMe and others). (I made those up.)

The Pro Pak is a basic version of the program which has very little in terms of styles and tracks. The application is the same in all the Paks, but the content is what gives you the ability to create a lot of music. The ProPak (and I'll say it again, I wish they would rename it, as I believe the term "Pro" is misleading) is really designed to give you a sense of what BIAB can do. Most people, if they like the program, shortly upgrade to the MegaPak, or better yet the UltraPlusPak or EverythingPak to get the additional RealTracks/RealDrums and styles (both "Real" and MIDI).

And just because I didn't see anyone mention this: Updating your Style Picker (with the appropriate button) is of course essential.
Hope this doesn't come across as a bit of a "well, duuuh!" type of advice. It's a strangely easy thing to overlook, at least in my experience.

Thank goodness words aren't knives.
