I found one that works to give more tracks in Biab, it will follow the looped section/play/stop/pause to the host. energyXT 1.4 in the forum it says it's abondonware. DropBox energyXT14VSTPlugin.zip
The newer version energyXT 2.6 don't work in BB if PG fix this you can buy the newer version. http://www.energy-xt.com/download/26/energyXT26VST.zip there is no contact or support reply from any of the the email addresses. I purchased it but the download was an old 2.6 standalone version and would not register 1.4
Load energyXT.dll into midi track plugin slot or energyXTE.dll into audio Track Effects slot Set your 32 bit vst folder, you can also Browse to a vst and drag it into the chain window then connect it (left click to disconnect) Add a Sequencer, double click to open it Add Audio or Midi track, if you want to add FX to a track, in the main chain window click on the "1" to add EQ or VST Click on the "C" and drag to pan track Double click the VST name to bring up GUI Tracks drag straight in from DROP WAV/MIDI In Options Sync Mode > External To be able to save the session right click chain window at the bottom Install License File > massiva.key
I use the Print Screen or Alt + Print Screen (for current window) button on my keyboard then paste (Ctrl+V) into windows Paint or http://www.irfanview.com/ free, then select area of image by dragging mouse then Ctrl+Y to crop or Ctrl+R to resize.

Pipeline,
I appreciate your response. I also use Irfanview, great utility. Did you know you can press F12 and bring up a moveable Paint ribbon bar? Hopefully this returns the favor of your sharing Cntrl Y and Cntrl R.
Thanks JF, I remember you had to install that Paint now they have put it in there, F12 I will have to remember that, Shift+G is useful and the Plugin Pak http://www.irfanview.com/plugins.htm
Wow, Pipeline - this is a great Band-in-a-Box hack! I can absolutely see the practicality in doing this. I think I'm going to have to to try this out at home in my off-time.
I'm looking to add more tracks. Am I correct in thinking this tutorial will achieve this?
I've tried following the instruction but get lost very quickly. Not If someone can confirm it will give you more tracks then I'll follow it up with a new post asking for a little more clarity on the process.

Thank you,

The easiest way to achieve more tracks is probably just to use RealBand (48 tracks).
BIAB & RB2024 Win.(Audiophile), Sonar Platinum, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M Monitors, Pioneer Active Monitors, AKG K271 Studio H'phones
Actually, I found a remarkably easy way to get multiple RTs on a single track (although you sacrifice the functionality of having being to tweak each one individually). Basically, under the RT medley option, you can pick choose "entire song," and then pick up to 10 additional RTs and then check the "play all simultaneously" box.

That's a very nice tool to add to the arsenal Deacon. I use multiple instruments on a track a lot and was unaware of this feature. I've been playing with all morning and having a ball.

This goes back to a wish I have made many times and that is open all 16 channels to users. This way they would function like the 5 we already have. That is regenerate and/or freeze and use for RTs, RDs and MIDI.
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.
64 bit Win 10 Pro, the latest BiaB/RB, Roland Octa-Capture audio interface, a ton of software/hardware
True but this runs into the old (very old) discussion about how far do you want to take Biab with multitracks when you already have Real Band sitting there ready to go with 48 tracks. And RB has much better editing.
Will those who seriously think they would be using more than 48 tracks in Biab please raise their hands?
It's a solution but, the workflow with going to Real Band feels slow to me. Here's my workflow:
1: I like to get the bones of a song (bass, drums, guitar/piano etc) to work out the structure in BIAB. 2: I then add another instrument (as a fills/complimentary sound). There's all my BIAB tracks gone 3: I then port all tracks to Reaper 4: I then return to BIAB, remove one one of the tracks, add another to see what fits, if good, export back to Reaper 5: Rinse, lather, repeat...
Going back and forth like this is very tedious. More tracks in the BIAB window would be great.
I thought the originator of this thread was proposing this could be done. Am I wrong?
Sorry forgot all about this one (if you are porting the tracks to Reaper then look at REATRAK it will import the BB Chords). I made a basic video on how to set it up (best to load the energyXTE.dll into the Audio track see below, the energyXT.dll is for midi tracks and the energyXTE.dll is Effects for audio track, this way will give 7 MultiRiff tracks). Tracks are generated up in BB and just dragged into the tracks in the plugin. These tracks play along in sync to the tracks in BB. MultiRiffs You can even do MultiRiffs this way by generating 7 of the same instrument after you have dragged all the song tracks out of BB into the plugin. Load energyXTE.dll into the Audio track (click Audio+ in the bottom right of the Mixer). In BB using F5 Mute each track at bar 1 (except Audio)then set each track F5 Back to Normal (except Audio) where the Multiriff starts then F5 Mute where the riff ends (except Audio), you then solo the first track and the EnergyXT track with left click, play back from just before the MultiRiff starts by double clicking on the chord sheet, now un-slolo track 1 and solo track 2 and playback, and so on until you find the right riff if not generate another 7, once the right riff is found drag that track into the plugin this will give the whole track starting at the count-in but muted until the riff starts, to get just the riff bars highlight them before dragging.
Here's a guide for energyXT 2.6 This will allow you to generate up 7 MultiRiffs in BB64 (613 or higher) and BB32 2017 UP, it will play them in sync to your other BB tracks allowing you to choose the best riff/section. To use energyXT2.6 in BB64/32 you need JBridge
To use in BB64, in the Mixer select the Plugins Tab then click the Audio+ bottom right of the Mixer, click [None] at the top click Plugin drop down, at the bottom select 'Add VST Plugin...' > energyXT2 VST.dll (this is an Effects plugin, energyXT2 VSTi.dll is an instrument plugin for a midi track) in your JBridge settings (at the bottom of the VST window that will come up when using a 32bit VST) set the plugin to open in new GUI then unload the VST, now load it back in.
To use in BB32 2017 Up you will also need http://jstuff.wordpress.com/pluginflipflop/ in the Mixer select the Plugins Tab then click the Audio+ bottom right of the Mixer, click [None] at the top click Plugin drop down, at the bottom select 'Add VST Plugin...' > 32bit PluginFlipFlopFX.dll click 'Load new' > energyXT2 VST.dll (this is an Effects plugin, the energyXT2 VSTi.dll is an instrument plugin for a midi track that can be used with PluginFlipFlopSynth.dll)
You can read all these instructs or just watch the video below. *Make sure the energyXT Play button is on before playing BB ! The quickest way to get the BB song tracks into energyXT before multiriffing is Audio > Export Song as Audio file > (also check One File Per Track) now drag all the tracks (except master mix) from the folder that pops up into energyXT (make sure you hit the rewind button first and drag them hard to the left, you can also drag Midi or RealCharts in) After you have the song tracks out into the energyXT click track 1 and select the instrument you want to MultiRiff, type the RT number down in the filter now in the top left of the Picker select the next track and set it to the same RT, do the same for all 7, 'Close' the Picker select bar 1 > F5 set all tracks except Audio to 'Mute' select the bar where you want the MultiRiff to start F5 set all tracks except Audio to 'Back to Normal', select the bar where you want the MultiRiff to end F5 set all tracks except Audio to 'Mute'. You simply highlight the bars you want to preview with the riff starting a bit before the riff and ending just after then make sure the Play button is on in energyXT and press F10 in BB to loop the selected section of bars, using right click to solo the Audio track and Riff 1 then un-solo Riff 1 and solo Riff 2 and so on. If there is a couple of riffs you like but want more just freeze those tracks and hit the >+ to re-generate the others.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
