Scars Of The Heart

I'm getting ready to release a new album of original music on December 1st. All of the instrumentals on it are mostly done with BIAB Real Tracks and this is the Title track for the album.

Real Tracks:
366, 380, 381,434,377
Real Drums: Rock Even 8

Mixing and editing done in Cubase Elements 9

Lyrics:

Every now and Then you find that special on.
The one you want to cling to and love with all your heart.
And when you find that someone you wear your heart out on your sleeve.
Leaving you defenseless in loves rough and raging sea.

Now I have had some lovers who love me like you do.
But lately I've a feeling that you're gonna be untrue.
And I don't want you cheatin' cause it would break my heart in two.
Leaving me with scars inside that are black and grey and blue.

And I'll have scars on my heart tearing me apart.
And the warmth of love will fade to the chill of another day
And all I'll have to show are these scars on my heart.

Now if you're planning on leaving why don't you pack your things and split.
Cause I don't want your cheatin' and it'll take a while to forget.
But I won't grow too lonely even though I'll fall apart.
Cause I'll share all of my sorrow with these scars inside of my heart.

And I'll have scars on my heart tearing me apart.
And the warmth of love will fade to the chill of another day
And all I'll have to show are these scars on my heart.

Thanks for listening kenny. I like the way the ending came out on this as well. BIAB has really given me the ability to make some great sounding music from the songs I have written. This song especially has come a very long way from its original form. What a blessing to have this program and the great community here on the forums to share our creations.

Sammy,

Cool title. A classic country theme, a classic Country sound. Thought I heard a little Marshall Tucker Band in there smile

Well done. Nice vocal. Good mix.

Glad you found BIAB (and this forum!).

Awesome man!

Can't wait to hear the album!

This reminds me a little bit of Charlie Daniels mixed with Gregg Allman. And that's not bad!!

As we can see from the comments, your outlaw influences are all over the write, performance and production. This has a great vibe. Really enjoyed this and looking forward to the release of your album. You did a great job on this one.

What a tune! Fantastic work on this Samuel - this is exactly the kind of country I gravitate towards. It's got attitude, it's got a catchy melody you can sing along to, and it's got an incredible groove you can tap your foot to. Hearing this makes me excited to hear the album! You nailed this one, I can't only imagine the rest of the album will follow suit.

Great work, and thanks so much for sharing smile

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track
