I'm not sure John, but perhaps he's thinking of things more fully orchestrated such as backing tracks for songs like "O Holy Night", "The Christmas Song" and "White Christmas". Just a guess on my part. Perhaps some oboe and french horn inclusions. As I said, just a guess.
