Hi all. Just a fun song with no real back story. All comments most welcome. Rob Scratching and Itching You gave your word that you would stay with me all your live long days. I spend my time hiding from the truth detest your wicked ways. One of these days I'm gonna draw my pay and head right down the line. I hear your words ringing in my head and I'm so sick of your lying. Chorus Said you'd set me free ( said you set me set me free) just where I wanna be.( Where I wanna wanna be) You got me scratching and itching just like I got an allergy. Bridge Chorus Said you'd set me free ( said you set me set me free) just where I wanna be.( Where I wanna wanna be) You got me scratching and just like I got an allergy. Verse Now don't you tell me that you've changed your mind and just want to stick around. I'll tell you now that I'm ready leave on the first bus out of town. Then you tell me how you've repented of all your evil ways. And that you want to stay with me all my live long days Chorus Said you'd set me free ( said you set me set me free) just where I wanna be.( Where I wanna wanna be) You got me scratching and just like I got an allergy. Said you'd set me free ( said you set me set me free) just where I wanna be.( Where I wanna wanna be) You got me scratching and just like I got an allergy. Said you'd set me free ( said you set me set me free) just where I wanna be.( Where I wanna wanna be) You got me scratching and just like I got an allergy. Hi, Rob !
I have to admit that I´m a bit weak for those well sounding chords and the rhytm ! I like them as well as everything else on this very nice performance ! Very enjoyable listen !

IBB, A very cool song you've created. The BIAB selections are perfect. The main vocal is almost perfect - but there's some sibilant stuff that you really ought to address. The compressor in S1 has a de esser setting or the reliable but time consuming volume notch works a treat. Loved the song & performance!

Fun song!
Strong vocals as always, and I like the mix, drums sound good and I like the way you have everything panned.
The backup vocal parts during the chorus, "said you set me set me free", "Where I wanna wanna be", are the cats meow!

Fun song, Rob. Well done.
Your mixes are really POPPING these days! Everything in this sounds good - clear, crisp, in-its-own=space.
The harmonica solo is a really nice choice. Consider moving it more toward the center to "show it off" (just a slight panning - 15 maybe?).
Excellent vocals. Cool backgrounds.
Quite an enjoyable listen.

Rob, that tune defines "catchy." It's a song that you immediately want to play again...and that is worth a lot!
Terrific melody, vocals and overall production.
Simply superb!

Rob, Good fun and a really nice mix. You often come up with lighthearted tongue in cheek lyrics- this is another. Excellent vocal and harmonies, love the harp. Enjoyed!

I really appreciate your advice on the de esser. I put one on the vocal but neglected the back up vocals. I have fixed that problem though not in the current soundcloud mix. Can do with all the help I can get with Studio One. Thanks again for your help. Rob

Great job on this! I can't get over those harmonies - you absolutely nailed them. Not to mention that harmonica part was a great addition that I didn't see coming. I really liked the light hearted nature of this tune. It's really easy on the ears, and I like how catchy it is too. Well done and thanks for sharing
Cheers, Deryk

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks
MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:
There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:
1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track
