As you get older do you have that feeling sometimes that you're dodging bullets but your luck won't last? I get that feeling more and more, so I put it in a song. SoundCloud link incl. lyricsWeb site link (Lyrics, technical stuff. etc) BIAB Data_TBLZS8S.STY ‘Texas Blues’ Realtracks: - Drums - Bass - Guitar L - Guitar R CLAPTON1.STY ‘Clapton1 Rock Blues’ MIDI: - Organ Tambourine is from EZdrummer. I programmed the MIDI brass parts and added vocals and lead guitar.

Hi Skyline,
that's just great. Very well-arranged and sung; great job on the guitar. British Blues tradition at its best, didn't take long until Mick Taylor shot into my head.... Enjoyed it a lot!
Cheers,
Stefan

Great composition & production... I like it! I also notice you have some clever little videos I found on your website... I guess you haven't had time to produce a video of this song... If you create one, I'd appreciate a PM heads up. Thanks...

The midi horns are REALLY good - well programmed. The icing is the assured and accurately pitched vocal plus the creamy lead lines. Bonza.

John,
This is super. Everything done SO well. A good write (easily relatable)
Your guitar sounds GREAT. Nice tone, well played. Drums are killer. Nice punchy bass. The horns are very well done! (they sound "real").
Your vocal sits perfectly in the mix (and a good vocal it is!)
The overall mix is clear, crisp, clean. Superb. It sounds great at low volume AND very loud - the real test of a good mix.
Very well done.

Wow!
This is a wonderful demonstration of BiaB + EZ Drums and your playing. It sounds like a well honed studio group or a long time gigging band.
Add in a fine vocal performance and mix and the result is classic sound that should be heard by many.
And the write...man, does that ever hit home. I (Bud) often say we can do all the healthy things, as Janice and I do, but even then you are just playing the odds.
And like floyd said turn it up or turn it down and it's gonna sound great!

John, This is stunning, really stunning. Your writing, your singing, your arrangement, the mix and production all sparkle with the kind of clarity that stands side-by-side those professional works heard on the radio. The lyrics are so relatable.... the longer I live, the more I believe that Life really is a throw of the dice.... it's a great hook! I thoroughly enjoyed listening. This song definitely deserves to go places! Regards, Noel

Very nice traditional blues rock song. Strong touching lyrics with a great hook. The arrangement and mix work well. Excellent vocals, I really like your singing style here.

Many thanks everyone, I’m glad you enjoyed this one and I really appreciate the kind comments. Sorry I’ve been late with an acknowledgement, we were away for a few days becoming grandparents for the second time. The circle of life continues…
Vocals: I confess I've always been most at home with blues; singing them comes naturally, which is why I only had to use a very tiny bit of Melodyne correction. rayc: ‘The midi horns are REALLY good - well programmed…’ floyd: ‘The horns are very well done! (they sound "real")’ I’m getting better at putting in the timing, velocity and other imperfections that happen in brass sections, and I used a SampleTank patch called ‘Brass Falls’ which made quite a difference.

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks
MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:
There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:
1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track
