Best wishes to you all!
Here is my first contribution for 2019.

It features the beautiful samples of Irina Brochin, which were part of the Papelmedia GM Soundfont.

This is an amazing first post to 2019, your voice sounds really nice and the song is nicely written and arranged, I did think you could have had harmonies, backing vocals, at certain parts of your vocals to fill/ heighten them , but I really enjoyed this .

Thanks

Rob,

What a lovely melody! I enjoyed the whole song ( including the voice samples); the best part for me is listening to the purity of your vocal, though. Sure, you could add harmonies, but its a pleasure to listen to someone who can really carry a song like this.

Very nice song!

Your vocal performance is really good and it was in general a pleasant experience to listen to this song.

I hope I am not offending you, but at certain passages, the song reminded me of some of Rodger Hodgson's songs (which in my world is a compliment).

Your voice is really good on this - it's perfectly set up to carry your tones.
The song is lovely and the melody structure is excellent.
I must admit that the vocal samples, while lovely, don't add to the song or performance for me.

Cheers

Wow, this is gorgeous Rob smile You did an outstanding job. It's a solid write, and truly a beautiful tune. Love the vocals on this - they compliment the backing tracks flawlessly, and what you did with those vocal samples add a unique flavour to it.

You should be proud of this one - thanks for sharing!

Beatmaster, Thanks for your positive comment. Yes you may have a point about adding some additional backing vocals here and there through the song. I mostly use backing vocals in my songs (Anne-Marie usually does them) but in this case it didn't cross my mind.

VERY nice Rob. I must admit I've used Irmas soundfonts on a few occassions over the years. Never once thought about asking permission as I assumed coming from papelmedia they'd be free to use ? Anyhow, great song, and very nicely arranged

Wow! That is a lovely write and vocal performance.

We always enjoy and admire the harmonies that you use but in this case the absence of them really showcases your wonderful vocal.

The lyric and vocal are so heartfelt. Powerfully emotive...

Tremendous!

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track
