Mike,

This is really well done. A delightful listen.

A great flow as instrument come in and out. The acoustic guitar figure is quite nice. Nice piano & oboe (are you playing those).

Excellent mix.

Everything about this is good...

Nice work Mike! I really enjoyed the overall tone of this and rhythm is easy to follow. The Oboe is a nice touch to piece it all together. Well done!

Nice track! Love the melody played by the Oboe especially, piano is also nicely done. Some very cool changes happening here, very well thought out production.

That surely took some time and thought to put together and to wrap it up in such a nice mix.

Like floyd we'd love to know who's playing what!

Kudos on everything about it...

Thanks for your comments. Coming from you guys, they are certainly appreciated.
RE: who plays what:
I am not set up for audio recording so I usually work things out on my guitar and then input the melody etc on a very old 'dumb' midi keyboard.
I also use this input method for particular parts/sections/riffs/fills for various instruments and drums I want that RealTracks cant provide.
I then manually tidy up and embellish the parts and assign them to the instruments I want. The French oboe, some bass guitar bits and the lead guitar (plus effects) in Lost For Words come from the Kontakt library.
Sometimes I'll take a RealTrack transcription and change some notes to suit my piece better.

RealTracks/Drums:
RT2262:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm 80sPopBallad Ev 085
RT1610:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm Pop16 Ev16 110
RT701:Bass, Electric, PopHalfNotesSync Ev 085
RealDrums-JazzFunkPop (variations).
The very tasty background guitar licks on this track are from Michael Thompson (RT1637).
Thanks again for your interest.
Mike

Extra fine movement with the various instruments coming to the fore. Engaging melody and well-considered rhythmic breaks. A very nice listen.

Quite a nice melody Mike.
I have to admit that I found the centre a little annoying when it became crowded with little licks and touches. The left side seemed a little less occupied - or that may be the ear I'm slowly losing.
Nice melding of RT & Midi mate.

Cheers

Hi Mike,

This is an outstanding listen. I love your arrangement and orchestration... it sits very, very comfortably on the ears. As others have already noted, the flow from instrument to instrument and section to section is smooth and leads the listener on a seamless journey.

All the best,
Noel

Very nice, Mike!

Love the arrangement. Very well thought out. Everything has its place. I can see this as a background track to scene of driving through the countryside in a movie, or for a travel video. Very well done!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
