Stalled in seclusion. Man, I gotta get out more. You folks are really making some good things come out of this pandemic, and I am so grateful for your inspiration through these times. On Monday the builders return to continue our new home. We were supposed to be moving in this week, and I expected to be building the next studio, but... Many others are having it worse, but thanks for making it better with your music. Baby, Baby Love on YouTube Baby, Baby Love on SoundCloud Baby, Baby LoveIt's late in September and it's time to remember all the time that's passed us by. You can go your own way and I can go my own way, or we can give love a try. Oh, baby I'm tellin' you this argument isn't new. Let love find a way. Remember? One day I noticed you and Tuesday they told us two like us is hard to find. So quickly the changes come and one day we'll live as one if we don't change our mind. Remember that lovin' seems to satisfy broken dreams, and I still dream of you. CH: So let's baby love. Babe, we gotta baby love. Simply take our crazy love and cradle it as though it's nothin' but a baby love. Babe, we gotta baby love. Hold it tight, then maybe love will take root and grow. And however clearly we can see that it's dreary, we can see light up ahead. I promised you roses and another day closes, but my love you get instead. Our love lies a' cryin' –oh, no, it's not dying. May wet. Maybe wet. CH CH: Baby, baby, baby love. Baby it's a crazy love, satisfied by making love, but this baby makes two –me & you. Oh, Babe, we gotta baby love. Baby, let's just baby love. Baby love then maybe love will grow into old age. END: Baby love. My baby, baby love. You are so talented, it's unreal. Love it. Understated yet excellent, tells the story through beautiful music without anything "extra" that would be totally unnecessary. It takes skill and talent to do it like that, I find :-) Bravo.
Hope your move goes well!

Hey Marty,
Man, this is great! Really good writing. Also dig your vocal and of course the bass playing.
Did you take the photos you used in the video? I recognise Bryce Canyon, we were there last year. Very cool place.

Hello Marty,
You sure have some surprises in your repertoire, but all very attractive. And this one is certainly no exception! This song was from 1991? I had to think of some songs from that time. The name Marvin Gaye circles in my head, but he died in 1`984. But I'm so bad with names... Barely know mine. But focussing on the song; it was nice hearing you sing with a somewhat brighter voice. Or was it your voice from 1991? I also liked the lyrics. Long lines of text with all kinds of messages in it: 'Remember that lovin' seems to satisfy broken dreams, and I still dream of you' Very nice!
I hope the inconveniences of your housing issues and studio won't last too long, otherwise we have to miss you also, or not?
Hans

Marty,
Great production, excellent lyrics, delivered with quality and polish.
An excellent vocal performance tops it off, completely. Really well done.

We've been there 10 or 11 times by now. My soul lives in Zion and I try to visit as often as possible. We're getting along so much better now.

Marty,
Nice song. I like the hook idea.
A cool choice of style for the song - kinda 60's pop...
Bass sounds really good. And a good strong vocal (though I think it has a little more high EQ than it needs which makes it pop out of the mix a little).
Catchy. Still in my head after the song is finished - always a good thing...

Hans Thanks, Hans. Nah, my voice for '91 was much higher --hehe. You should hear THAT version. I think I lowered the key like a full step and a half here.

fj Thanks, Floyd. 60s pop was where I was headed. Kinda like a James Jamerson does Doo Whop thing.

Marty, A different and very catchy side of your music- the chorus had me singing along. Echoes of some pop standards and that means you had some good inspiration. Sharing the gratitude- I like that.... good luck with your building!

Hi Marty ...
Talk about catchy! Love music from that era ... grew up in the 1950s and 1960s. Great vocal over a super band and with a terrific lyric. Great listen ... still humming it as I write this. Damn ... I'll be humming this all day! But that's okay ... a cool one to have on the brain!
Best to you and be safe ...
Alan

Baby love that lyric...all that delicious internal rhyme and the turn of phrase. The love is the baby. The whole groove is inviting and fun and your playful delivery of those lines makes me smile big. Hugely enjoyed.

Hi Marty,
This is a really nostalgic sounding song. It took me back to listening to songs like "Under the Boardwalk".
Your song has the same feel and that 50's and early 60's sweet, innocence.
Thanks for posting it, I enjoyed listening to it.

Marty, excellent tune in spirit of PoP love ballads of 60s. Heck, you even managed to make whole thing sound like Golden hits. You are very talented song writer. Liked it a lot. Would be fun to hear original version too Thank you for sharing. Misha.

Peter Thank you, Peter. I started playing in '63 and can't get it outta my head --maybe heart... maybe fingers... probably soul.

Thanks for posting it, I enjoyed listening to it. Thanks, Bawb! You hit it just right. I can tell you listen with feeling. Marty, excellent tune in spirit of PoP love ballads of 60s. Heck, you even managed to make whole thing sound like Golden hits. You are very talented song writer. Liked it a lot. Would be fun to hear original version too Thank you for sharing. Misha. Thanks, Misha. The original is a bit irritating to the ear. Ironically I didn't play bass on it --just keys (including horn parts) and guitars, and (cringe) drum machine. It's one of the few recordings where I played the guitar solo. If you really want to hear it, well, here's an Mp3 from an old site http://www.basssick.com/mp3/mod/babylove.mp3

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks
MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:
There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:
1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track

Review - Band-in-a-Box® 2023 for Windows is Overflowing with Features!
Dennis posted his very thorough Band-in-a-Box® review recently, where he dives into some of the new features added with version 2023: Sound-Guy's Band-in-a-Box Review
Read his thoughts on the Download & Install Manager, partial track regeneration, Playable RealTracks, Audio Editing, the addition of SynthMaster, the VST DAW Plugin, and more!
"Band-in-a-Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is, without negative connotation, a monster of a program. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. No DAW can do some of the things BIAB does, while BIAB can do a lot that DAWs do."
