Hi All,

Hope everyone is well.

I thought I would share a new arrangement / recording of a song I wrote some years back.

This is called Lucinda Songs.

I can hear you sing Ventura
With my mind in a restful place
No matter the news of the day
I could drift away in space
Got one hand on the rear view
And the moonlight in my eyes
The window’s half way down
It’s hours till sunrise

And you don’t owe me something sweet
At the point we lose the sound
Those Lucinda songs will cool my mind
Should our lives become unbound

I could contemplate the outcome
With some futuristic view
Ventura’ s on the radio
I will let those waves come through
Got your voice inside my head
And the words fall all around
The ache of night has passed
It’s hours till sundown

And you don’t owe me something sweet
At the point we lose the sound
Those Lucinda songs will cool my mind
Should our lives become unbound

All BIAB Tracks:
366: Bass, Electric, Country Ev 065
362: Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Ev 085
362: Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking Ev 085
2446: Guitar, Baritone Electric, Background Ev 065
RealDrums: NashvilleEven16 Sidestick HiHat

Thanks for listening...

Bob

Hi Bob
Enjoyed my listen. Evocative lyrics, nice progression and that baritone guitar lends a real Lucinda vibe.
Regards,
Leon

Bob,
Very poetic. Nice, not too busy arrangement, which leaves ample space to hear lyrics. Thank you for sharing.

Misha.

We are HUGE 20+ year Lucinda fans so it was exciting to see your title.

And then we listened ... Wow!

Man, did you ever capture the softer side of her. Love the "Sweet" reference also.

Your vocal evokes the feel of many of her songs and your
production does the same.

No need to parse things out. This is a treat for everybody and us Lucinda fans in particular.

Love it!

J&B

PS Coincidentally we just finished an intentional Lucinda style song.
Albeit her harder side.

Bob, I wasn't familiar with Lucinda W, so I had to listen to her a bit after listening to your song, then I went back and listened to your tribute song again. Love the imagery, references (both lyrical and stylistically). Really nice track!

It's good to hear from you again, Bob. This is lovely and spacious. Your gritty, fragile vocals exhibit the soft-side of this lyric. It's really all that it needs to be and supported just as much. Hugely enjoyed here.

Cool stuff, as always. I like the vibrato guitar. I remember when that and reverb were the only guitar effects available.

Nice work.

Bob,

This was good the first time around. Just as good this time.

You really OWN that BAND. Sounds so "right", tight. Good performance. Good mix.

Enjoyed, again.

First time hearing it, not real familiar with her, but some people that I respect really like her. Regardless, this had all the things I love about your tunes: great vocal, sparse but poetic lyrics, and just as evocative as can be. Great work as usual.

A poetic pretty arrangement with your unmistakable vocal style.

Really enjoyable (and love that baritone guitar).

Great to hear a new (old) one from you.

Great song, simple but with a good vibe to it, and the baritone guitar just gives it that extra umph!!

Hi Bob,

I missed you for some time. Nice to hear you are around again. And not just 'around', but with this nice sweet song.
you performed very well in it, with your familiair sounding voice!
To my regret I don't know Lucinda, but reading your lyrics and the post of J&B, it must have been an interesting person.
Well done!

Hans

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
