LYRICS:

Cast Your Burdens On The Lord (Ps 55)

Cast your burdens on the Lord
Know that He’s caring, caring for you
Just let His love fill you again

Cast your burdens on the Lord
Know that He’s with you, with you always
Just let His peace fill you again

Even in our darkest night
He will light our way
Turn the night to day
He’ll lead us home
He’ll lead us home

Cast your burdens on the Lord
He will sustain you and preserve you
Just let His power fill you again

Cast your burdens on the Lord
Know that He’s faithful, rich in mercy
Mighty and just – long may he reign!

Even in our darkest night
He will light our way
Turn the night to day
He’ll lead us home
He’ll lead us home
He’ll lead us home

Love the blend of instruments.
The oboe and high piano are well placed.
Vocal is very good, particularly enjoyed the harmonies.

Well done.

Brian,

Good instrumentation. A full, blended sound with very nice simple additions (oboe and vibes).

Very good vocals and harmonies. Good mix. A beautiful melody.

A very melodic, well sung (and harmonised) interpretation of the Psalm.
I could hear your song becoming the template for a choral version.
Very good!

Hi Brian,

I really liked your arrangement and your vocals on this song. It reminds me of the music that I hear that is supposedly commonly played in Jerusalem. It has the same chord progressions, anyway. An enjoyable listen. Thanks for posting...

This is very well done. The production qualities are excellent - the vocals and instruments are distinct and clear, and the tone is very smooth. The close mic recording of the vocals is a good choice for this type of song, as it captures the nuances and allows the volume to be tightly controlled. The vocals were very up front, but that suits my taste.

Your vocals are excellent and the performances and choices on the instruments were very appealing. The melody is very strong and solid and the upbeat syncopated rhythm is a good choice for this song.

Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Brian,

This is a lovely little worship song that would fit well into any church service.

Nice arrangement, good vocals, lyrics and harmonies.

A pleasure to listen to.

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track

Review - Band-in-a-Box® 2023 for Windows is Overflowing with Features!

Dennis posted his very thorough Band-in-a-Box® review recently, where he dives into some of the new features added with version 2023: Sound-Guy's Band-in-a-Box Review

Read his thoughts on the Download & Install Manager, partial track regeneration, Playable RealTracks, Audio Editing, the addition of SynthMaster, the VST DAW Plugin, and more!

"Band-in-a-Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is, without negative connotation, a monster of a program. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. No DAW can do some of the things BIAB does, while BIAB can do a lot that DAWs do."
