Good day forumites.... It's been a while since I've finished anything after our re-location to central Kansas. We drove back to central Kansas to visit my good friend/bass player/bandmate back in 1995. He introduced me to ‘red beer’ being tomato juice with beer. Yes…sounds like an odd combo to me also but he said it’s good for hangovers…..guess it can’t be all bad. We’ve recently re-located here so I wrote this song about it along with appreciating life, friends, family and what we fondly refer to as ‘home’. It turned out to be good time, danceable country song which is really not my genre of experience. It only took me 19 years to decide to record it. I thought my lead vox was a bit too loud but my buddy didn't think so....so, I left it as is to throw against the forum wall. _BRSOLC2.STY Country Brent GuitarSolo2[120RS] Country Brent Guitar Soloist Even 16ths RealStyle with electric guitars, and drums featuring electric guitar solo CountryBrent. (El.Bass, El.Guitar(solo), El.Guitar, El.Guitar, Drums=NashvilleEven8^6-HiHat,HHatO) Red Beers In Kansas....first song on the list: https://soundcloud.com/chulaivet1966Into: 4 bars Verse 1 Just a boy, another wild-eyed dreamer, Lookin’ back I had it made But every night I would think about leavin’ Now you couldn’t keep me away. Chorus Big skies at sunrise as far as you see Fireflies at midnight, the summertime scene Red beers in Kansas….is all right with me Verse 2 Ice the kegs, I’ll be there in the mornin’ And fire up the hick’ry coals I’ve been around and I’ll tell you somethin’ There’s never any place like home sweet home. Chorus Verse 3 Back with friends and some good home cookin’ In the middle of this USA It’s Friday night and I’m done talkin’ The band is getting ready to play. Chorus Lead – verse music+chorus music Verse 2 (repeat) Chorus End Copyright: Wayne Evans 5/13/01 Music/Lyrics Thanks for stopping by or giving a listen and hope you found it worthy of your time. Hope all are doing well and have a great day.

A great song of your happy landing, Wayne. Bass players always have the best advice, and Red Beers is a good one. Wonderful harmony and a cool tune for traveling. I'm also digging your YT channel. Stay well.

Rollicking tune, I enjoyed it. Glad you explained the Red beers, I wouldn't have had a clue. Good job.

Salut Chulaivet1966,
You like the place where you live and it's nice. The chords and your warm voice are sure values for your relatives and friends. It is a very pleasant composition which shows your joie de vivre and it is very good. Well done
Kindly regard

Marty.... Thanks for stopping by and the kind comments. Ha....I'll graciously accept your 'advice'...you bass players have it together. Tunemonger.... "Rollicking"....I like it. I still haven't had any red beers since living here. But....I haven't been hung over yet either. Dero13.... At 73 I need all "joie de vivre" I can muster. (I would have never spelled that correctly) I'm glad my voice was acceptable....it rarely is to me. Guess it wasn't too loud in the mix either. Did soundcloud get rid of the 'stats' button? I don't see it anymore....looks like they changed their interface because I hadn't checked in on my page for some time. Thanks again gentlemen for taking the time to check it out and comment. Have a great day.

Wayne, great "song snapshot" of the life you're returning to! Very enjoyable movement and real singable--you had me joining in! Nice use of the BIAB elements. Best of luck in your return to KS.

Thank you sir.....it always a struggle to talk the self into uploading a new one. By the time I'm finished with it I'm so intimately involved with it I begin to second guess whether it has any appeal at all. Have a great day everyone....

chulaivet1966, man that's a sweet sounding tune! That backtrack you put together really pops! Your vocal is in no way too loud! To me it sets nicely in the mix! Enjoyed it! Take care, T

HI Wayne ...
I played this kind of music for many years and still love it. Loved every word and note. I do not think the vocal is too loud, by any stretch of the imagination. Harmony sounds good, too!
Really nice! Hope all is well in Kansas. The last time I drove across Kansas ... back in the 1990s ... we had a saying: "The scenery was gorgeous ... both trees had leaves on them!"
wishing you the very best. Take care and be safe ...

Take care and be safe ...Alan Ha....yeah, the organic green visuals are quite different from where we came. Which was..."Kalifo'nia". But, small sacrifice and so glad to be out of there for a few reasons. Thanks for stopping by, giving it a spin and the generous comments. Somehow it turned out to be a upbeat, country dance tune. It just kind of evolved on it's own. I'm (even after decades of doing this) still very self conscious of my vocals and the delivery performance. That damn red light goes on for the vocal take and the tremors of anticipation begin. I'm a mess. Harmonies are tough and can easily become mixed too up front if one is not careful. I'm doing vocals on another one tonight and I can't tell you the takes I've done and I'm still not there. Thanks again for chiming in and the kind words. Hope all is well in the family orbit.

Are you "that damn Torrey dude" who keeps the bar too high for me to measure up to? Thanks for giving a listen and kind words amigo. Glad the vocals are in the mix as intended. Did I mention I'm still intimidated by the red light when it's vocals time? Hope all is well with friends/family.

Mornin' all.... rayc.... I thank you for giving it a spin and the comment. I tend to mix my lead vox a bit lower than it should be. Couldn't be because I'm self conscious of my singing....nah. Ha...definitely "Good 'ol boy" stuff....sometimes these songs just evolve on their own. CaptiaonMoto.... Thanks for the kind words...it's appreciated. This song writing stuff isn't easy. Que tenga un buen dia todoa....

chulaivet1966,
Glad I stopped in to listen to this one. Nice rolling country rock sound to this one. Just a fun tune to listen to in the yard, under a summer sky with a cold beer. Very cool!
Kind regards,
Deej

Very cool!Kind regards, Deej Howdy Deej…. I’m glad you “stopped in to listen” too. Thanks very much for giving it a chance and the kind references. I almost didn’t post it thinking it was top dull for prime time. It good to know that maybe I was wrong….again. Hey Peter… A sincere thanks for listening and commenting. I always struggle with what I think might be worthy for my peers ears....so to speak. Thanks again….have a great day.

Cool tune!! Vibe reminds me a bit of the Dead! My sister told me about this beverage.......she called it a "bloody beer" and also thought it was good for a hangover. Enjoyed this!! Take care. Greg

This is a great cruising song. Something to blast through the speakers with the top down. Clever lyrical hook.
