I was wondering if someone could help me with the upgrade pack. I have had it for a couple of weeks now and it is driving me crazy.
Firstly, every time I open it, I get an "update styles" window open up. Despite clicking the, "don't show again box", it still does it. I click yes, and it opens the styles window, where I obviously update it. After it updates most of the styles have disappeared. I then click the Clear button and they come back.
When I close the window and go back to the main screen, it is on the minimal setting, so I change that to the normal screen. The mixer panel isn't opened as it used to be, so I have to do that every time.
Secondly, when I play a song, it auto repeats, and I cannot find a setting to stop this anywhere.
Basically, the problems are, it thinks that when I start the program, it is for the first time. When a song ends, it starts again from the beginning.

For your second problem, try this:
BIAB & RB2024 Win.(Audiophile), Sonar Platinum, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M Monitors, Pioneer Active Monitors, AKG K271 Studio H'phones
Since you are used to a version before 2018 when they overhauled the interface, try using Ctrl+T to switch back and forth. You might find the screen to be more familiar until you get used to the new interface.
BIAB 2024 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 6.5 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6; Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus Studio 192, Presonus Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors
It's not so much the interface that's the problem, it's the fact that everytime I start it up, it thinks that it is the first time and wants to rebuild the styles. It wouldn't be so bad except after the rebuild most of the styles have disappeared and I have to hit the clear button to get them back. I also suspect that not all the instruments are installed, as I'm getting songs which used to play fine, now not having the instrument available. It's very frustrating.
Still, if it worked perfectly, where would be the fun.
I did a reinstall and it's ok now. Thanks for all your help.
I hate to push it but.... When I bought the upgrade, I also bought paks 9 & 10. If I go to style picker and play one of them, it plays. However, after I click to use the style in the song screen it say's, not available. I did do a search, but can't seem to find the instrument.
Am I right in thinking that I bought the paks so the instrument should be there, or am I missing something. Someone said that it's because I have the pro pack, and I need the mega pack for it to play. I can't believe this is true, otherwise where didn't it warn me.
This is something that it's best to take up with PG Music as they will know what files you have.
If you look on the bottom right corner of your monitor, there's a blue box with a white speech bubble in it. If you click on this, you start a direct chat with PG Music.
I did send them an email this morning, but I'll try the blue box. Having looked at the styles page again, I found in the small print that I need the ultra pack realtracks to run these packs. A bit of a bummer as the cost is also ultra. It does seem like they have you on a treadmill with this software.
When your finances permit, I strongly encourage you to consider upgrading to the UltraPak. Once you've done that, it only costs US$99 each year to add all the new features and maintain the UltraPak from year to year. While I can't promise that this will be the case next year, I can say that this has been happening for around 12 years now. The UltraPak has everything (apart from bonus material) and it's the most popular package used.
Also, if you purchased packs from PG Music that require the UltraPak to work properly, you can ask for a refund if you are not happy and if it's within 30 days of purchase.
If I'm reading PG Music's pricing properly, you should be able to upgrade your previous ProPak (2017) to the UltraPak for US$169 during the specials. Since you paid $49 to upgrade you previous ProPak to the 2021 ProPak, you could ask for this to be refunded. That now brings the price of the UltraPak down to US$129.
I'm not sure if that's helpful information or not. Please note that I am not PG Music staff and I do not get paid anything to sell their product.
Regards, Noel
P.S. Depending where you live, taxes/duties may be involved that will also add to the cost.
They're STYLES packs, not RealTracks packs. You will add them to your Style picker BUT if you dont have the RTs to make them work, they'll not sound like the pre-recorded demos etc Ian
Old Guys Rule.The older I get,the better I was! BB2023 ULTRA, 1013, Win 7 and 10
A number of people seem to be caught out by this Styles / Missing RealTracks issue. The relevant info is a note in small print at the base of the Styles purchasing page. PGM really needs to make this clearer for potential customers.
Hi, Thanks for all the advice. I have had a reply from PG music. They have said that they will give me a refund on my 2021 pro upgrade, and sell me the ultra pack. I think that I will have to take up the offer, I wasn't planning to eat this month anyway.
They really do need to make it clear about the packs. Maybe a warning should come up if you don't have the ultra pack.
A friend of mine has been buying the packs, even though he has the pro pack as well. He hadn't realised that the packs are not working. As you can imagine, he is not a happy chappy right now.
It's a self portrait drawing I did for a local exhibition/competition a couple of years ago. Roughly A3 size it's based on an idea I nicked from an album cover. Came first in the competition.

Torq,
I've just noticed that you're in the UK. You might want to consider the download option for the UltraPak because I believe that there are duties to pay on the USB drive version.
The download will be big and probably take a week or so. If you download the program first, though, and then install it, you'll be able to drive BIAB. Then install each download file of Realtracks as it comes in.
Hopefully someone from the UK will jump in and add some information about this.
