As if a cat needs a lullabye to fall asleep. (Couldn't resist! wink )

I like this! smile

Years ago, I went to a memorial service for a co-worker. One of his sons played the vibraphone, and gave us an excellent performance. Thanks for reminding me of that!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Thank you for listening! smile

I have been listening to your track with the Synth V several times... and it made me think a lot... will eventually get to write some comments about it...

Hi Will,

As owner of three cats I know cats just think that everyone is in their service.
But as a listener to your song I can say I enjoyed it.
Even more than I expected, because I like Jazz, but not too much.
The instruments souned al so bright, like you are sitting next to them. I like that.
And one of my cats just decided to step on my keyboards while I was recording...

Have a nice day, Will,
Hans

Love the vibe and the vibes!

It's most cool to hear the vibraphone. We learned to like that instrument
from listening to Lionel with Benny.

As a credit to both your creativity and BiaB we feel that it would be difficult if not
impossible for one to realize that this is not a live sextet.

Excellent!

Esp liked the passages with only vibe and bass--really creative idea.
Would love to see your chord chart--very interesting path for this track.
This is another great example of using what is in the RT's at an expert level to generate a complete, wholistic track.
Excellent work.

Sounds great but also sounds more like something a cat would chase than a lullaby..the bright ringing panned sounds would, if sto light, have a cat bounding about.

Cheers

Not a cat lover, allergies, but even this dog lover loved this one.

I really like the sound of vibes.

Your mastery of RTs really shines putting them in the lead for the entire song and having the rest of the band blend in perfectly. I also liked your chord progression.

Will,

As all others say, the vibraphone is really great.
Thank you for showing us your chord chart.
The chord progression you wrote is basically composed of Im, IVm, and V7, but the ingenuity is very clever.
It's the cool jazz!
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Yes ... what Janice & Bud said. The one difference between them and me is always loved to hear Lionel Hampton do Jazz improv with Steve Allen. But I fully agree with their review. That was a very, very nice listen. Great job, especially with the vibes!!!

Best to you ...

Alan

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track
