I like it! The only thing I would change---not that you asked for my advice---is "don't" for "doesn't." It's one syllable instead of two and sounds more, well, country. (And the "o" in "don't" can be stretched out as long as you like.)
Good stuff!

Good stuff! Will definitley consider the change Mark! The only reason I do post on this fourm is to get constructive feedback; therfore, I REALLY appreciate your insight. I can send songs to my family when I want hollow praise. LOL

Nice work Dewey! Got to say that's the first time I've seen a "mulligan" in a set of lyrics! I think this one has the best sound of what you've posted! The vocals are tops! same for the harmonies! Excellent work! Thanks, Torrey

Nice harmonies and the main vocal is terrific...there is something a little strident or clipping in it but not badly. The band carries the song well. Don't chance doesn't to don't...there's nothing wrong with not dipping into cliche. The narrative is good fun. WELL DONE!

Dewey, this is outstanding. Super groove and vocal. The lyrics were awesome as is the mix. Two big thumbs up. PS - how long have you know my wife
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Can you explain what you mean by "...something a little strident or clipping..."? I'm always looking to improve so I appreciate your input!!

Man do I ever like that chorus. Very hooky. An the harmony is so tasty. Good work.

Thanks for listening. My family lives in the Lansing area (Mason, MI to be specific). I trust you spent some time enjoying sunsets on Lake Michigan, eh?

Hi Dewey,
I agree with my colleagues you made a good song. The lyrics have a nice perspective they deal with. And the vocal are really good. Chafing a bit, but really nice.
There is one thing though, or more a feeling, about the song. It is dealing with a subject where you want to hear a bit of desperation in the singing, but also in the song itself. The energy stayed the same, where I was hoping it would rise. Like: more volume in the choruses, a louder beat etc, etc. Of course, it is a matter of taste, but keep in mind she doesn't fight fair! So I need to hear how that feels.
Have a nice day, Hans

Great insight Hans! Thank you for putting yourself out there with constructive criticism. I will certainly re-think the production from the depseration perspective. Not sure I can do much about the vocals unless I hire someone (which I am too cheap to do)! LOL

Good title. Really like the lively description of that woman, easy to imagine the shaking and stomping. Enjoyed your vocals, nice vibrato. The band sounds very good, supporting well the nice chord progression. The chorus is really catchy.
