my new pc is ready to install windows 11. i found going from windows 7 to 10 was a doddle - is going up to 11 as easy? i'm fairly confident but stayted with 10 for the moment.
anyone got any comments?

It was easy for me, but I'm a computer geek. I outlined most of the steps in my post in the Off Topic forum. I've been running on Win11 for nearly 2 weeks and no issues yet. Good Luck! Installed Windows 11 on Laptop Successfully!

I bought a new pc bt and opted to have windows 10 to start with as with reinstalling everything - including BIAB and RB - i wanted as easy a ride as possible.
this morning upgraded to windows 11. upgrade went fine. and as far as i can see any changes that affect me are purely cosmetic - start menu now in the middle etc
i use BIAB, RB, surf the etc and use Office on this pc so my needs are quite simple and i have no need of the vast array of windows 11 services.
everything works flawlessly and finding my way around was quite simple. and it does seem a tad faster and snappier.

Great to hear Bob! For the most part I configured my Win11 to look like Win10. Most of the new Win11 features looked cosmetic to me aka useless. But I do agree it does seem to run a little more efficient.

From my experience with operating Windows 11 so far, the only "learning" I had to do was with the Start Menu - it's a little different, but straightforward. Everything else acts like Windows 10 with some minor enhancements.
Under the hood there are more changes of course, but they don't really change how you interact with Windows.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
