Hey Guys...this was my project for today...to try and give a touch of BiaB magic to one of my instrumental tunes...this song is an instrumental version of a song I wrote for my daughter to record called "Hey There" ...I put the instrumental version on an album entitled "I've Sailed These Seas" which was instrumental tunes set over the sound of the ocean, that's why you'll hear the waves and gulls (you're not losing it...just yet) in the background...I didn't add much but I think I improved it a bit.

Hey There (instrumental)

Nice 'playing' of the sax, and equally the guitar. I'm kind of jealous of keyboard players and all their sampled sounds. Yes, I have a keyboard and some nice samples but one has to actually be able to play them. I'm pretty limited on the keyboard, I'm only good for simple string and horn fills. Well, you mellowed me out really good with this one, I might be ready for a nap now. Thanks for a very nice piece.

This is really nice. The Tyrol sax is convincing. The moment the strings come in is quite lovely. The entrance of the drums is also very effective.

The key change gives the song a nice lift.

Very nice! laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

What a cool song. This such a beautiful melody. Also an incredible mix. Just filled my studio with an incredible song. Loved how the energy built through the song..

TuneMonger, David and Scott...thanks guys for the thoughts and comments...I have been blessed to have some incredible keyboards and I'm finding that paired with BiaB I am beginning to see the visions I've had for the music I try to present...I'm not a great musician but these "tools" have helped me begin to build the tracks that give the music a more professional presentation and help bring it to the life I had intended for it...I'm sure that's true for everyone on this forum...thanks for listening...Dan

I totally disagree with that statement. I think you are a fabulous musician. That sax is so real sounding its scary. The strings are nice and mellow. Great arrangement.

Super chops

Loved it.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Thanks Mario...musicianship is like beauty it's in the eyes (ears) of the beholder...thanks for your gracious compliment.

If you liked the song then you should listen to AMBER'S RENDITION https://soundclick.com/r/s36h1v it was the inspiration for the piece...it is an entirely different arrangement of the same melody...if you listen you'll love it...I guarantee!

Lovely and a great display of what talent and a keyboard can produce.

The sax is remarkable and all sounds most excellent on the KRK's.

Well done!

Have a safe and happy new year.

That's a really lovely sound Dan! Those Yamaha keyboards really can pull off some convincing sounds and you really made it happen on this one! The tune just carries the listener off to another place! Great work! Thanks, Torrey

Lots and lots to like about this.

Amazing realism from the Sax, a fantastic build and all delivered through a quality mix.

Move over, Kenny G -- Firesong has got this!

Beautiful sounds that are perfectly blended (the ocean did a pretty good job too). Liked the key change at 2.34. Smooth transition. All in all a fabulous start to my day. Thanks!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
