I'm prompted to post this by the death of my last of 42 aunts and uncles (Uncle Ed passed at 91 this week)...inspired lyrically by Revelations21:2 and the arrangement is inspired by the Eagles song "Hole in the World"...Rev 21:2 says,
"I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband."

If you decide to listen and or comment...thanks so much...Dan

Dan,

I can relate to you! I am at the age where I've only got a handful of family that are older than me and I start thinking of what's coming beyond the end of this life!

This is such a great song! It's inspiring and very pleasant to listen to. The vocals are SUPER!

It occurred to me as I listened how much you remind me of the group Phillips, Craig and Dean....uncanny similarity to their vocal sound, and that my friend is an extremely high compliment!

Take care, Torrey

Torrey...I love P,C & D...I've seen them in concert and they are some of my vocal heroes...I'm humbled and you my friend are going deaf...but thanks...Phillips, Craig and Dean, The Gatlin's, The Eagles, etc. are my cup of tea and the kind of music I would love to aspire to...I appreciate your comments so much.

Very pleasant song, mellowed me out. Is there a heaven? Who can say? But it's hell getting old, that we know.

Sorry for the loss of your uncle. Hope it was 91 good years.

Wow! Those harmonies are something else. smile

Nice write. Claps work really nicely. You've got a very distinctive sound here. Key change is really effective.

I like the sort of call/response between the harmonies repeating the chorus and the lead vocal - that works really well.

A couple minor of nits:

  • It sounds like the rotary sound of the organ is fighting with the vocals, which gives them a sort of gurgling effect.
  • I liked the balance at the beginning, but towards the middle, I found myself reaching for the volume knob. So... something about the mix.

Anyway, really pleasant listen.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Andi, TuneMonger and David...I am encouraged by your thoughts and comments....and thanks David for your "minor Nits" comments they are really helpful...I wondered if anyone would catch the skewing on the vocal track...as per my recordings these days, I'm still pulling vocals off of older recordings and on this one I could not clean up the vocals very well...it might be because there were multiple harmony tracks on the master record to rip into one vocal track...not sure I can fix it but I think I'll try since you caught it David...thanks for listening with good ears...I appreciate it.

So sorry for your loss, Dan, but it sounds like there was much to gain from your Uncle Ed. You always manage to create inspirational melodies. Such a fine production and the vocals are outstanding.

Enjoy whatever happens!

WOW!! What a beautiful song. The vocals are fantastic, it sounds like it's radio ready. Sounds like some of that "Eagles" harmony!!

Sorry for the loss of your family members. Music definitely soothes the soul in times like this. Especially when it is done like this. Beautiful vocal and harmonies. Very warm and encompassing. Well done..

Firesong:

Really pretty tune . . . lovely, lovely harmonies that just pull at the ear. Terrific vocal on this as well. I’m generally not a Christian Rock listener, but this begs for listen after listen. It’s that good. Outstanding!

And love that key change!

All my best,

Deej

42!! Wow quite a family.
May they all rest in peace.

I'm not religious man so I won't comment on the story or lyrics.
The song is well delivered and I believe it captures the message you're trying to deliver.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
