AnyWay

I wonder how it all got messed up anyway
We were so good together, seems like yesterday
We had a good thing, a love so fresh and new
Us against the world, just me and you

Then the fightin’ started, hateful words were said
We probably should’ve parted then, but we both hung around instead

You said I was afraid, to leave without you
And I said I would stay, but I don’t want to…

But I’ll do it any way I can, to make you understand
I’ll look for any way to stay, and play out this hand
You don’t like me anyway, and I don’t wanna’ be with you today,
But I’ll do it anyway. ( Solo )

I don’t know why everything had to go so wrong
Maybe we’ve been together, a little bit too long

I always thought that you’d be better off without me
But up until now I never thought, I’d really leave…

But I’ll do it anyway today, and I won’t look back
I’ll do it anyway I can, and I won’t leave no tracks
Don’t even like you anyway, but I never thought I’d end it this way,
But I’ll do it anyway… Anyway…

Outstanding vocals, great harmonies.

Your instrumentation and mix are spot on.

Good lyrics.

Two thumbs up

bloc-head,

You are an extremely versatile artist! This is an excellent modern Country sounding track. Everything you are posting is top tier stuff and I mean every word of it! Great song writing is on display once again! Your vocals are without flaw (harmony also) and this one, once again is so easy to listen to all the way through!

Keep setting that bar high! Enjoyed it thoroughly! Thanks, Torrey

Your sound is so clean and fresh, I just love it. The other day, I heard Loudon W randomly come on my shuffle mix, and he reminded me of you.

PS – The warm tone on that guitar solo is great, I don't know if it was there to start or if you produced it that way.

Hey this sounds really good Bloc-head. Very soulful.

Hey, I see you are selling this for $10? Did you mean $1? Are people gonna pay that much for one song??

smile

Sounds good though!

Personally I think you have a really good style that's a signature of you. You don't seem to try to sound like everyone else. I'm guessing that you just sound like yourself which is pleasing to me. I'm not a country guy but good music is good music and you do it well !!

There are elements that remind me of The Band.
I'm not 100% on the stereo image....the extremes aren't clearly defined and that sustained chord guitar up the middle seems a little misplaced - though it plays an important part.
COOL.

bloc-head,

I'm so glad you found the Showcase (and BIAB). It is a joy listening to your music.

I agree with ray on The Band reference - it would have been one that Levon Helm would take the lead...

An excellent sound. I like the mix. (one small note - the BIAB pianos are often pretty mid-range-y and can use a bit of high end brightening to keep them from getting too close to the BIAB mid-range-y rhythm guitars)

Killer vocals and harmonies.

Good Music.

Wow, that sounds just like the music you hear now a days in modern country music, the mix was spot on, and the guitar was over the top. Great vocals..

Hi, bloc-head.

As firesong said, that intro kept me guessing where the song was headed. Neat! laugh

Great vocal - it really makes the song.

Along with the harmonies, the guitar work, the band, the accordion...

You're really posting some top-shelf songs!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

I forget what band it was but a few years ago, a band, sold ONE copy of their new album...... yep, just one. It was several hundred thousand IIRC.

Bloc.... what a cool song. Yep, I hear the Band in there as well as a touch of Springsteen in the accordion. Those vocal harmonies are spot on. Sweet as honey. Nice choice on the instruments and very tastefully mixed.

I really like the harmony in the vocal doubling. This has added dimension.

A quality song and a quality presentation.
