VULTURE This is both a new mix and a new “performance” video of a song we posted five years ago. Janice gets to method or “play act” as she calls it - a childhood term Thanks to our music partner Peter and to PG Music for helping make it all possible. We hope you enjoy it ... comments are most welcome. And the vid is only three minutes. Janice : vocal, melody & arrangement Bud: lyric, progression, mix & videography Peter: all guitar tracks For those inclined toward the tech stuff: Vocal: Rodes NT1 via Scarlett 212 USB interface > Logic Pro X > Nectar Guitar tracks: Peter and whatever he does to them Drums: RD Blues Rock Shuffle / tag comped from Logic Pro X kit sounds > Waves CLA Drums Snare: Doubled from RD audio file > Neutron 3 Cymbal: Doubled from RD audio file > Waves JPL Percussion Bass: RT 1646 > Neutron 3 (comped from three tracks) Piano: RT 2730 > Logic Pro X Direction Mixer > Waves CLA Unplugged Organ: RT 2731 > Logic Pro X Direction Mixer > tweaked Neutron “Dirty B” preset > EMT 140 plate reverb sim Mastering: Izotope Modules EQ > Muti-band compression > Imager > Limiter > Izotope Tonal Balance > Logic Pro Loudness Meter © 2017-2022 J. This is really cool, both music and video.
Yes the "method acting" is going full bore and is pretty funny. You folks should start doing movies!
I love the sepia part towards the end. Really nice touch.
Excellent performances and sound engineering.

Just what I needed on a very wet Friday, (11" on Wed night and worse today). The creamy distortion of the guitar works perfectly with the organ. The band is excellent as is the arrangement- those added snare hits REALLY make the drums crack. Janice's vocal is 100% on the money...flawless and soul full.
This is an incredibly well written and performed song with a video that is straight out right for the package.

Sounds good to me - straight up blues! Cool video - Janice's emoting eyes in that opening shot are like something out of a 1930's cartoon! I'm sure Bud's mix was excellent, but the vocals and guitar solo were front and center, and nothing distracted me from that - the sign of an excellent mix. Fun listen!

Thanks for all David. The sepia bit was shot in our living room as we’d run outa ideas for another scene. Glad you liked it! J&B

Oh, you know I'm gonna love this one, and you're so right. Love Janice's play-acting, and, of course, her real singing --no play-acting there. Wow, what a strong solo from Peter. The mix, as always, is flawless, as is the selection of supporting players. Great video with interesting transitions.

A very cool tune... Love the video, and especially that old Mando hangin' on the wall. Janus has star quality for sure...

Great! Excellent song with both both Peter and Janice at the top of their games, and the mix of course is spot on. But the video puts it over the top, lots of fun watching Janice do her thing. She seems quite comfortable in front of the camera, and it's a joy to watch! Now, just need to get some footage of Peter doing some guitar parts Loved it!

Well, Janice does like 30’s movies and cartoons We both felt Peter nailed the solo and his fills were tailored to lyric and vocal. We appreciate your comments! J&B

Bud, Janice, Peter...
The mix is exquisite. Everything is RIGHT.
Peter shines. A very musical solo.
I think we've already established that Janice is PERFECT every time she sings. EVERY. TIME.
Cool song. Lyric and melody.
Great job on the video. Janice goes all in. Cool. Camera work is excellent. Transitions are EXCEPTIONAL. Y'all notch it up more with each video...

A very cool tune... Love the video, and especially that old Mando hangin' on the wall. Janus has star quality for sure... Thanks! Glad you like the vid and the mandolin. We also have an old dobro, another mandolin and a banjo on the wall. Bud’s stepfather was in a string band in the 1920’s. And Janice much appreciated your comment about her video “role.” J&B

That's the blues. Great recording. Outstanding vocals by Janice, superb blues guitar by Peter, and excellent lyrics and mix by Bud. The video was well crafted and interesting. Good job and congrats to all.

Janice did have fun with the video and we enjoyed seeking out locations for the scenes. Well, not much seeking for the last verse as it was in our living room Hey if you can figure out how to get Peter to make an appearance let us know. It may require kidnapping! Glad you liked it! J&B

It is obvious that Janice is going for a Grammy and an Oscar I'll bet she wins both! As usual the dynamic trio strikes again, i.e. usual outstanding vocal, mix, and guitar solos. Fantastic blues - loved it

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
