Hello folks, I finished this one without collaborating with anyone but the BIAB program - no one took the bait. Luckily le collaborateur sans égal, Bandhi Nahbox, performed drums and organ. The rest is my fault. Mastered, as usual, by Fran Ashcroft.
Whilst this is mastered I'm happy to read any comments regarding the mix and any other aspect so I can try them NEXT time.
Listening, I didn't feel compelled to offer any advice about the mix. That's a sensation I'm not familiar with, and I'll be checking into a clinic to make sure I'm OK.
Gives me a Midnight Oil, "It's a Mistake" vibe. I love the way the vocals cascade with the music.
Thanks Blong, I don't know that one. I saw MO heaps from 1st album to 2nd but gave up after that as they moved on to bigger venues and became HUGE with Drunk Australian Males who didn't know what the lyrics they shouted back were about.

Hi, Ray. First, it's nice to see a face in your avatar! Listening, I didn't feel compelled to offer any advice about the mix. That's a sensation I'm not familiar with, and I'll be checking into a clinic to make sure I'm OK. Really, it sounded fine to me.
Thanks dc, My mug rarely appears on things and a smile is a professional foul for me, (I managed 40 years of school class photos without letting one through). I'm pleased that I've not done anything poorly enough to warrant compulsion. Thanks, though, I know your ear & respect your observations.

Good one. Another interesting song from your studio. You write about very complex issues. The video was well done too, as usual. A good production through and through.
This is a really powerful video and music you've written, arranged, performed, etc., is a perfect fit.
I'm really glad that in part of your presentation, you've highlighted Australia's horrendous treatment of refugees. Every time I think of refugees who came to Australia seeking help and sanctuary, I'm embarrassed to be Australian. Australia's present federal government have abused so many principles of humanity that I've lost count.
You cover a lot of ground in this highly thought-provoking work.
PBX through and through. A very balanced mix. A very unbalanced world. Good job on the vocals. And guitars. And bass. Bandhi sounds good, too. A disturbing video. Keep it up. Loud and Proud. fj
Thanks FJ, PBX = balanced mix + unbalanced world. I'll wear that. Yep, the Bandhi parts are absolutely solid.

This is my favorite mix. The Bass & Drums seem tighter and punchier... The Guitars and Vocals are just right... I like this one a lot.
Thanks Bloc, I used a good plug in on the drums for the punch and the bass...well, I tweaked, changed , started again and then decided to rethink it just before sending it to the ME...I didn't give myself enough time for more second guessing.

Thanks jptX3, Ah, the world is complex isn't it? I live in a wonderful part of the world but under awful, regressive, Trump Lite government. The constructs of this government are based around 1st world issues except when an election looms and then it's a quick switch to fear mongering about 3rd world folk and Ch eye Nah.It's been this way for nine years.

Thanks Noel, I can empathise with you regarding embarrassment. We don't need to be loonies to know it is bad and looks even worse. I'm pleased it struck a chord.

"A very balanced mix. A very unbalanced world." mr jane nailed that. Through the audio version and now via this we have learned about an issue we were unaware of. We are in a time where one cannot hide from the sadness of refugees no matter how hard they might try. You are excellent at finding images to support your lyrics. Often sad but so is the story. Well done. J&B
Thanks J&B. While the Polish take an half a million Ukrainians into their homes my government spends almost half a million PER REFUGEE housing them in off shore detention to make a point. I'm pleased to have elucidated.

Bandhi sure gets around. What an amazing talent. Can play anything perfectly. Speaking of talent, I really like your videos, Ray, and that killer bass. Your voice sounds more out front than I remember, which I like a lot.
Powerful sound as usual! The chord progression is definitely rayc. I'm always wondering how you can come up with this kind of chord progression. I wonder what the roots of your music are. Sometimes I feel the Kinks, but it's very different. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
