Hi Folks.
For a long time I wanted to do a collaboration with Janice, but I felt the styles I was tinkering with might of not be her cup of tea. Finally I had the tune that I felt was right. Janice agreed. Bud recorded and mastered her vocals. Everything came together better than what I had hoped for.  Janice & Bud thank you!  P.S. I probably should not have been greedy and let Janice sing the whole tune smile  All feedback is welcomed. Thank you for listening!

Treasures

Lyrics:

Clouds floating over pines,
Playing riddles with your mind:
Sad face, snail race,
Tiger jumping through white flames,
Mythical creatures that don't have names

You can run, or you can hold still
lay below grass, or walk on tall stilts
Search for the treasures, deciphering symbols of past

Snowflakes falling from the sky,
make a wish before they die-
Sad winter lullaby...
Serpent patterns on window panes,
stray dogs that don't have names.

You can run, or you can hold still
lay below grass, or walk on tall stilts
Search for the treasures, deciphering symbols of past

Snowflakes falling from the sky,
melting on your face
Bound to wander this beautiful maze,
Counting the stars that have no names.

It's always a good day when you post a new song Misha.
Adding the divine Mrs M to the offering makes it's extra special.
The melancholy oozes from this and Janice sells that message beautifully within this very modern context.
What a melange - a full helping of spices.
You've written a few sad songs in recent times. I hope there's a chance & reason to pump the good vibes soon.

I do think the snare is a tiny bit too crisp though.

Cheers

No wonder this worked so well.

A team of excellent musicians combined to deliver clever lyrics and melody with wonderful variety.

The sax solo was the cake icing.

Bud, Janice and Misha made the team.

Man! So good, just a fabulous listen through the headphones, the intro especially.

Good vocal and Janice sounds awesome as usual, the way she phrases "lullaby" for example.

Well done Misha and Janice!

I don't know if the intro (first 40 secs) was deliberately bland but it cleverly disguised the treasures that were to come as the melody and lyrics unfolded. Nice!

When in doubt assume the best of intentions - to do otherwise is projection of a very unpleasant kind.

Beautiful collaboration. Janice was the perfect choice of a duet Misha. While both vocals were the stars of the song I must say the the backtrack and instrumenation was right up there as well. Perfect on all counts. Well done. Super mix as well.

WOW! What a fantastic song.

A great groove and an outstanding band setting the backdrop for some outstanding vocals.

WOW is about all I can say.

Great job Misha,Janice and Bud.

Loved it!

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Wow... what a treat! smile

You're both such different singers, it's cool to hear two entirely different approaches. And the arrangement is cool, constantly shifting in unexpected ways. It sounds like nothing else on the forum.

Fun listen!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Always enjoy your creations, Misha. Love the dreamy/floaty feeling on the chorus. Janice brings her usual brilliance to enhance an already beguiling production.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
