I've used this one for years.

I use a hosts blacklist, which seems pretty good at stopping irritating ads and also some otherwise badly behaves sites.

They work by locally to you forcing IP addresses of such ad servers to 0.0.0.0.

This is a common trick on Linux, but Windows also has a hosts file here (on Win8 ... I think it's the same on other Windows):
C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts

Google will find several host blacklists.

AdBlockPlus is my go-to also. It is free.
Occasionally they ask for a donation and I'm always happy to provide, but it's not compulsory.

Thanks, friends.

I went with Adblocker Plus

Apparently, a recent MS update conflicted with it and it quit working.

Donny,
Which web browser do you use?
I use Firefox and it works fine with Adblock Plus.

Same here Donny.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Same here with Firefox as well. The only issue is when you're going to many legit news and other major sites, they won't let you enter the site without turning it off or agreeing to $ubscribe to the site. I've probably had to turn off Adblocker on easily 60-70% of the sites I visit. They have to make money somehow or they'll go out of business. I've found it's the least painful to just let the ads run on those sites.

Former Ad-Blocker user here. I ended up switching to uBlock Origin. Both are very good. The problem with editing the hosts file on Windows is it somehow it keeps getting changed back to its default. Also editing it will give one a false virus warning. I just leave it alone.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
