My friends,
I've had some technical issues that is taking me quite a bit of time to sort out so, I hope to be back as a regular participant soon.

In the meantime events here in the good old U.S.A have broken my heart!

Somehow we just can't stop the madness occurring every day.

Way back in 2012 we experienced a violent tragedy, that I had hope would be the last of it's kind.
I was just beginning to learn the in's and out of recording and mixing back then and I was compelled to express my feelings in a song.

Well, here we are 10 years later and nothing has changed except my recording mixing skills but the more important issues have been neglected.

I humbly submit a pretty rough song from back then.
No BIAB and not much in the way of audio quality but, the message remains strong.

In fact if you don't mind, I'll add a second song that I was compelled to do in 2017............"Too Many"

Thanks for listening, hope to be over my tech issues soon so I can catch up on all the good stuff and add my own.

Here's "Take The Children"

Here's the link to "Too Many"
My recording skills are slightly improved but, the situation is the same.

Captain,
Listened to both. That was sad. Well delivered message.
Thank you for sharing.
Misha.

It's a cult....and mental conditions. Both need to be addressed desperately.

Two good, heartfelt sad songs Captain.
I`m lost for words about that madness, but hope singing about it makes it more bearable for you.

Captain

Nice work dealing with a heart wrenching subject! This tune has that Buffalo Springfield "For What It's Worth" vibe to it! You've chosen a good backing for the type of tune that it is!

Thanks, Torrey

Hi Mo,

I could only listen to 'Take the children'. It was on dropbox and lasted nearly 1,5 minute. Is this correct?
The other link didn't work.. Oh, I discovered how it worked! Now I'm listening to Too Many...

It is astonishing what arguments are used to cherish those awful guns, like: "the second amendment is a by God given right".
Who can say such things with dry eyes. You never know if your child is coming home from school again... Terrible thought!

But let me focus on both your songs.
They were both so sensitive sad songs, but you brought it very modestly and sang it very nice. If i had to make a choice between them, the second one I prefer a bit more. But I hope one day you can sing also joyful songs for me/us again. Songs of hope...

Hans

"Take The Children" --I really love the way you play, Moto, so just you and your guitar is always a fun listen. Even a gut-wrenching sad song like this one is a pleasure to hear. I hope your technical issues are quickly resolved. If you think there is anything I can help with, just ask.

"Too Many" --Good God, man. A friend of mine posted a list of school shootings in this country since 1998. The list was 4 pages long and that only listed the SCHOOLS. Imagine how many pages the children's name would take.

Enjoy whatever happens!

A position that can't be, intelligently, argued against.

A very sad almost unfathomable situation (from a distance). Song was well played and sung.

“Oh Lord, what have we become?
Take the children, save the guns”

It’s so sad that these kinds of songs are still relevant.

Your performances reminded both of us of Tony Joe White in his late period.

We hope you get your technical difficulties sorted out soon.

PS This is assuredly worthy of BiaB enhancement! smile

Songs which make any normal being cry. Superbly written, produced and sang. Bravo, and thanks for sharing.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
