The RAR archive file format is a proprietary file format developed by RarLabs. Most file extraction utilities are free to evaluate but then you must pay. ExtractNow is free. It extracts most common archive file formats and can perform batch file extractions. +++ HERE +++ is a link to ExtractNow's homepage. 7-Zip is another free file extraction utility. +1 for 7zip ... it seems to handle everything well.
Jazz relative beginner, starting at a much older age than was helpful.

Another +1 for 7zip. I have used it for a number of years now.
Today I bought a doughnut without the sprinkles. Diets are hard!
