Hard Luck Blues

My charge card got hacked and I was not a happy camper. So I changed all of my passwords that were attached to it, spend a good long time at the bank, then came home, put a 12 bar blues progression into Band-in-a-Box and jammed along with it.

As always all comments are welcomed.

BiaB style - Blues 12/8 - Slow 12.8 Blues
Tempo - 60BPM

I deleted the guitar and string tracks
Bass - Ample bass - P-Bass
Piano - EZ Keys - upright piano - preset saloon
Drums - Steven slate SSD-5 - Deluxe - Funk 01

Me guitar through Amplitube.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hi Mario,

My Kinda Blues!

Very nice - only suggestion - your excellent guitar playing is being played in a back room a couple of studios away from the rest of the band. A lot shorter reverb and much louder please.

Best Regards
Nigel

Zowie! There is such emotion in that guitar!! nice.

(I agree with Nigel that sits back in the mix and deserves to be brought forward).

Great intro Mario and it settles into a cool groove. Really liked the listen, but you're getting consensus here, in the words of Lynard Skynard ... Turn it up! Brad

Pretty cool blues, I like it. And great guitar work on your part smile

I would highlight your guitar more and use less and a shorter reverb, it seems to play in a different space than the rest of your band.

Sorry about the card but if that situation yielded this song something very good came from it.

We are blues folks big time and feel your playing is outstanding ... as are all the backing tracks and your mix.

Mix opinions are like elbows. Everybody has them! smile So FWIW ours is: We like the guitar gain as is or, if deemed necessary, no more than a 1-1.5 db up.

All meaning the set back guitar works fine for us in the mix as it contributes to the dark mood.

Janice commented on how much she liked the piano and the bass and how they accented your playing.

Enjoyed it!

David, Nigel, Floyd, Brad, and B.D thanx so much for listening and those suggestions.

This was a quick and dirty song I did in a couple of hours. I wasn't planing on posting it as I was just letting off steam! The guitar was a one take pass and after mixing it I said why not just post. Thus I wasn't very fussy about the guitar reverb. Thanx for bringing that up.

Thanx so much for this kind review.

I liked the guitar sound also.

One of my biggest assets is to play along with either a live or BiaB band. I try to play with what the band gives me. So in essence the piano and bass did accent my playing but my playing accented those tracks.

Tiz rumored that Marshalls have an 11 setting on volume. This deserves it. Your guitar work is awesome, my friend!

I absolutely loved your blues soloing and feel like you've got your own fresh style going on there. Old Les Paul is famous for saying "there's a million ways to play guitar" and you've definitely proven that. Nice work, brother-in-the-blues!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
