Well, a LOT has happened in my life in the past few months! (Actually in the past 2 years!) Rachel and I have moved back to the Houston area. This puts us back in connection with MD Anderson. God has blessed us so much with this move. We were able to sell our house in Canyon Lake for a healthy profit, and that got us into a new home, close to 2 of Rachel's sisters. Rachel is doing well, staying in remission. But wow, have we been flooded with dr. visits and tests (for both os us!) I finally got a little time to write and record. (How I have missed it! I think we are about settled enough that I can pester you guys a little bit more!) Hope you enjoy this one. All the instruments are RT/RD's except I played the piano parts. Comments are welcome...

YOUR LOVE

YOUR LOVE
©STEPHEN W. YOUNG

WHEN I WAS LOST YOUR LOVE GAVE YOU AWAY
I SEARCH WITHIN TO FIND THE WORDS TO SAY
EVERY DAY WITH YOU, LORD, IS BETTER THAN THE REST
GREAT IS YOUR FAITHFULNESS

YOUR LOVE IS NEW EVERY MORNING
YOUR LOVE IS BETTER DAY BY DAY
AND WITHOUT ANY WARNING
YOU FIND ANOTHER WAY TO SHOW ME
GREAT IS YOUR FAITHFULNESS

ANY TIME I FEEL THAT I'M ALONE
WHEN FEELINGS FAIL, YOUR PROMISE IS MY HOME
AND WRAPPED UP IN YOUR LOVE, LORD, I'M ABLE TO CONFESS
GREAT IS YOUR FAITHFULNESS

YOUR LOVE IS NEW EVERY MORNING
YOUR LOVE IS BETTER DAY BY DAY
AND WITHOUT ANY WARNING
YOU FIND ANOTHER WAY TO SHOW ME
GREAT IS YOUR FAITHFULNESS

Hi, Steve.

It's great to have you back again, and doubly so to hear your wife is in remission and near family.

Nice write, pleasant song. Love your voice, but the vocals seem... off? There's something in your vocal chain that emphasizes the upper range, and when combined with the BGVs comes across as harsh.

But that's not a big deal. Love hearing you back on the forum again! laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

I like it, especially your vocals and vocal harmonies.

Pretty cool idea to have one chorus with just vocals, drums and bass...works VERY well!

Very pleasant pop song, full of sunshine and optimism. Good intro. Good vocals, although the vocals sound bit thinner in the second verse. Enjoyed the chord progression. Super catchy chorus with great harmonies. Great drumming near the end. Mixed very well. You are really a master of perfect pop music smile

Good hearing that info..... it's always good to make a profit on selling a house.... That certainly gives you the opportunity to do some things.

Nice work on the song. I had to stop and listen because I wrote a song with the same title with a lady who lives in the HOUSTON area. Look up the Houston Songwriters Assn. It's a very active group with some really good writers.... she is one of those good writers.

To listen to the song we wrote with the same title.... simply click my link.... my music....scroll down to #41

Good job.

Nice melody, cool slowly developing arrangement but the bvox seem at odds...either they're too bland or they're rubbing I can't decide which.

Cheers

"WHEN I WAS LOST YOUR LOVE GAVE YOU AWAY" --Great opening line, Steve, and it even got better from there. Good band, and I like the changes and melody. I hear what Ray is saying about he BGVs, but I kind of like it this way. Well, it's a matter of taste, I guess. Enjoy your new digs in your old town.

Enjoy whatever happens!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
