Hi guys, been awhile since my last post, so here is my latest; a Bossa tune. Hope you all like it.
A mix of Midi and RT's.
Cocoa Beach

Style is ZZJAZZ.STY (Jazz Swing Style)
Style MIDI Instruments are : Electric Piano (5),
RealTracks in song: ~464:Bass, Acoustic, Bossa Ev 140
RealTracks in song: 2379:Sax, Tenor, Soloist BossaEric Ev 140
RealDrums in Song:BossaBrazilPercAlex^1-a:Snare, b:Ride

For some reason the actual style is not right as obviously this is not a swing style; the rest of the info are right

Not my kind of music, but it's nice to listen to and well produced.
My only criticism is the piano, which sounds too lo-fi compared to the rest. I would try a few others, or at least add some treble.

Very cool tune Mike. Awesome production. Loved the separation on the instrumentation. Well done.

Mike,

It's a very nice bossa nova tune.
Jobim's familiar approach was applied throughout, which was a lot of fun.
Rhodes sound is also very nice.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Hah! Mike Ballara, Bossa. Yeah. Ya think I might like it? Rhetorical, right? You own my favorite club, sir, and I always enjoy my visits. Man, that piano player is terrific. Ha, no swing because you've changed every player in the style it seems. I defer to your tastes, and this is another tasty treat from you. Man, this reminds me of some fun times in NYC. I didn't see a triumpet listed. You are quite good with MIDI, and outstanding in your composition and production.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thank you Scott, Shigeki and Marty for your nice comments. Marty, you're right the trumpet soloist was a Midi with a two trumpets, sax and bone combo patched thru a Kontakt channel.
Elect piano is a Jeff Lorber solo.

Cheers

Excellent job on that MIDI lead and tone....brilliant.
Super groove and backing tracks.
The mix was spot on.
Loved the Rhodes and sax!

Hey there Mike. Another impressive track. You always do so well at this stuff. It's the kind of stuff I've never played and only listen to sparingly, but I sure enjoy and appreciate the musicianship behind it. You've got a great musical mind and production talent to come up with this stuff so regularly. Very nice.

Thank you guys, always aiming to please. I know there's always room for improvement on anything one do and I really mean it but if I don't like it, you guys are not going to listen to it, so I'm pleased.
Thank you very much.

Hi Mike,

Although it isn't really my kind of music, I like how you've made the song and involved all those instruments.
To my taste some variations in the tune could have gave more 'surprises' to keept the attention.
But the mix, the instruments, the solo's are all very well mixed.
So I would call this a very good song.
And glad you are back again!

Hans

A well-constructed track. All the pieces seem to fit together nicely. It's the kind of music that I like to have in the background when I'm concentrating on something else. smile

My music may not set the world on fire but if it causes a glow in just one person's heart, it has all been worthwhile smile

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
