The Hardest Nut To Crack

This song started from the title, maybe some person was difficult to understand, can't recall, but the title inspired the rest of the story. I had very much fun writing the lyrics, I even tried ChatGPT, but it would have been too hard to teach it to understand my strange train of thoughts smile It apologized several misunderstanding , but made the same mistakes again, so it is like a child. In the end, I used only couple of AI lines, and they are not even good...

This was a good rocking song to test the new Synthesizer V vocalist Ninezero. I didn't change the lyrics to match his Australian accent, so feel free to complain if an Australian would never use the words I gave him to sing laugh Good sounding vocalist, but it seems that changing his vocal mode parameters do not have much effect, hopefully I learn new tricks with the next songs.

Synthesizer V is going to have support for rap mode soon, I'll render those female parts in that mode when it is available.

Mixed in Cakewalk by BandLab

I'm the master of crosswords
but I can't solve your puzzle
you are a poker face
I delve for an answer
but you don't move a muscle.

I can't read your mind
it's a riddle to unpack
uncovering what's masked
wringing colors out of black
you are the hardest
(the hardest nut)
the hardest nut to crack
yes you are the hardest
(the hardest nut)
the hardest nut to crack
you're the hardest nut to crack
(the hardest nut to crack)
the hardest nut to crack
(the hardest nut to crack).

Are you in my hearts?
Are you my only jack?
Are you in my full house?
I'm your dearest nut to crack.

I read Hannibal Lecter
like recipes for dinner
but I'm lost in your case
the teachings are useless
with you I'm just a beginner.

I can't read your mind...

You could be my breakfast or
you could be my snack
my name is macabre
I am dangerous to crack.

You're the hardest
harder than a diamond
Occam's razor doesn't cut
I'm squeezing
to see what you're made of
I can crack that freaking nut
you're my challenge
my muddled mission,
like the splitting of an atom
I get my power
from the fission.

I can't read your mind...

I can be your girlfriend
or your Zodiac
your obsession or your patient
we are all your nuts to crack.

Janne,

Excellent song. Lots of good energy and a great track selection.

Awesome use of the Ninezero vocalist. Very nice job on this.

Clever work, nice interplay between the voices. Can't hear an Australian accent in the main vocal. I see it was based on an Australian vocalist - presumably Bon Scott from AC/DC?

Impressive.

Cool stuff, Janne, your lyrics are always so well done!

Track sounds great also. Initially I thought the vocals were a little low, but towards the end of the song they sounded just right.

Nice use of those vocalists BTW, I thought they sounded pretty good, especially enjoyed the interaction between them.

Enjoyed.

This is definitely not a genre I would normally listen to, however, this was so well done I had to listen to the whole song. Great production, words, structure, and very catchy!!

Janne,

A well produced satire. Probably the "hardest" tune I heard from you smile
This is great:
"I read Hannibal Lecter
like recipes for dinner
but I'm lost in your case
the teachings are useless
with you I'm just a beginner."

Mix is very clear, but I agree with Dave on vocals. Thank you for sharing.

Misha.

I like your pretty funny song, but to be honest I can't stand Ninezero's voice, it's too nasal, like he has a cold.
Of course that's not your fault, he sounds the same here.

The girls are good and I really like their leads and backing vocals.
Amazing what you did with Ninezero in the "the hardest nut" part, though, he sounds pretty cool there.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hi Janne ...

I always wonder what I will hear when I click onto your posts. I know it's always going to good, but in what way? As always, this was in a great way! You are so dang creative. You compose, arrange, and execute so precisely.

Strong and fun! That was a great listen!

GREAT idea for a song, and a great job putting it all together, Janne. I can hear your train of thought very clearly and I like how you reveal it with this pounding melody. The lyrics are outstanding. Here's a couple of my favorites: "I read Hannibal Lecter like recipes for dinner" and "harder than a diamond Occam's razor doesn't cut" I much enjoyed my seat on your train of thought.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thanks Peter your kind words smile The voice provider is Australian born, I think, I don't know whether it is his "normal" voice or is he mimicking AC/DC singer. But doesn't matter to me, at last there is a real rocking synth voice smile

Howdy Blue....I felt the same way but I think they work for this tune.

Howdy Janne....
Not a genre I listen to but this is s very creative write and well produced.
Lots of energy given that tempo and your vox phrasing.
I'd totally suck and trying to sing (at all) that fast. smile

Well done all around!

The clever lyric and powerful performances by the AI team were a treat, Janne. As others noted, the interplay was very good.

Good band and mix too. Janice said she was reminded of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, a good thing. smile

Ninezero hit the spot for us!

Enjoyed it!

Thanks Misha for your nice words smile I'm not quite sure what you mean by "hardest", music or the story, but maybe it is the combination of them smile Glad you found satire in the song and that you liked those lines, AI couldn't come even close the humor I was after, so I had to work on that by myself. Wish I had resource to do a funny video I have in my mind, I would need a bunch of apes trying to break coconuts or something similar laugh

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
