It's a strange life / One moment passes another awaits
Time after time you hear somebody speaking / don't hear a sound
Watching and wasting the time / Time in a

Strange day / Wanting and waiting and wishing for change
Wasted and hoping for Someone to know you / someone to cares
Knowing it all ends alone / Here in a strange world

It's a strange world / of paupers and poets / and profits from wars
Feasting and famine / and knowing / that someone / is dying today
Yet / it all stays the same / here in this
Strange place / a bright blue marble all alone out in space
spinning and turning / and out of Control / I’m out of my Mind
have we / run out of time / here on this strange world

One fine day / with the strength / of our faith
Sing of days / Sing of love / Sing of life

One fine day / as we Run / through the Maze
Knowing Time / has Come to fade Away

One fine day / as our time slips away
we look back / on our lives / so strange

One fine day / we will march / to our graves
We will come / to the end / so strange
here in a strange life

One fine day As we try to Escape
To the Moon to Mars to the Stars

One Fine day
With a glimmer of hope we will stay

Man, you've posted three songs so far in a month where responses are, generally, slowing .
You've not commented on anyone else's stuff in that time.
Pace yourself.

Cheers

Much enjoyed, Elliott. When it started out it was so sparce instrumentally, but I saw there were a lot more players waiting in the wings. Man, once you released them this song really took off. Well mixed, and man there's a lot in there. This surely is one fine song.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Elliot,

Superb Music!
A strong write.
Good vocals.
A stunningly good Production. A thoughtful arrangement.
There haven't been a lot of Rock Waltz Showcase posts, so this uses a lot of RTs that I haven't heard used much. Nice!
Drums sound great.
The acoustic guitars are Ear Candy.
There was no solo guitar listed - did you play that?!?!?!

This is really good.

(thanks for stopping in for a listen to "Old Southbound Line". Because it is an older post, I won't respond there directly so it does Bump again. Appreciated).

Elliott,

It's a deep contemplative piece of song writing! Love the choice of the melancholy sounding fingerpicked acoustic! It really sets the stage for the impactful chorus! Very nice job with the vocals! Great guitar solo!

Thanks, TB

Elliott,

Pretty tune—excellent production and arrangement. The write is terrific and vocal is stellar. If I had one small nit, it would be the high hat on the drums which in some spots is a bit too loud and out in front for me, overtaking the vocal and those killer harmonies. Excellent solo—just perfect for the tune. Very impressive work here, Elliott. Outstanding tune!

All my best to you,

Deej

Very cool intro. I like the acoustic on the left and your vocal on the right. Gave the song a very cool feel. Loved it when the band kicked in. Really well done..

Elliott ...

Very nicely done. The in and out of backing tracks was nicely done. Definitely a contemplative listen. Makes me think of something Jim Croce might have written if in a contemplative mood. Although I'm a big Jim Croce fan, your voice is much smoother.

Those opposing acoustic guitars are so sweet!

The guitar intro is right up my alley, great idea and great execution, immediately sets the mood for the rest of the song.
Great guitar solo, great vocals.
I like everything about this song, I think this is my new favorite song of yours!

Production is also pretty good, but the mix is a bit too compressed, which reduces the punch in the lower registers.
I would rather make the production less loud and have more punch in the louder kicks+bass sections. And a positive side effect would be that it would make the rides less dominant.

Making bits and bytes sound good...

I don't mind the general string noise but those clicks in the intro were way too loud to ignore/accept.
Personally I'd crack open the wav form and edit those.
Your vocal and lyrics are REALLY cool.

Quite sad story, but with a small glimmer of hope, I like especially the part
"Strange place / a bright blue marble all alone out in space".

Good inviting intro to something familiar and yet strange. Classic ballad feel with nice chord progression.

The instruments were mixed nicely balanced, although the chorus sounded too compressed in my ears.
Good vocals. Good solo, sounded like Brian May was playing it smile

Definitely worth listening several times.

I was going for the Brian May type of lead. Thanks for pointing that out, and listening

You have great dynamic changes in this strong lyric that accompany the feelings of loss and hope.

We enjoyed the whole package - vocals, band and mix. Your solo guitar is great!

Kudos!
