Dewey,
A strong title! You wrote-to-it well.
Good vocal. The BAND sounds good. Really well mixed.
So, I like the lyric. I like the sound of the BAND. But....for some reason, the style/genre seemed at odds with the message. Could just be me.

Hi Dewey,
Great vocal and lyrics. Super band and mix.
I'm at odds with myself on this one. I really like the song as is, and it is a good song, but in the back of my mind I think that you have a great country/pop song. So maybe a country or pop style may be better, but I don't know for sure. Regardless that is just my opinion.
You have a great song here so two thumbs up.

Thanks for listening and giving your feedback Floyd and Mario! I will mess around with different styles to see if I can find better prosody. You guys just keep helping me improve and I thank you for that!
Na zdrowie!

Hi Dewey,
You have very good vocals! And the song you made was a nice one, in that reggae style. I can agree with Floyd, the lyrics need another tune, or the tune needs a more sunny approach in the lyrics. But as I said, I like your vocals and the tune.

Hi Dewewy ...
Glad I dropped in to hear this one.
I pretty much agree with the previous reviewers that a more country or pop-country approach would take an already fabulous lyric and vocal and put an extra coat of shine on it.
You have a really nice voice, and your lyric writing is exceptional. You are quite talented!
Just my thoughts for what they're worth.
Take care ...
Alan

Hans and Alan,
First of all, thank you for taking the time to listen and for the kind words.
Secondly, it seems there is a unanimous consensus that I should explore a pop/country feel for this one. I appreciate you chiming in and I will for sure take everyone's advice and see what other styles might give my song better prosody.
Na zdrowie!
Dewey

Great hook and lyric! It would sit great with a country or country rock production in our FWIW opinion. Your excellent vocal timbre would be perfecto for that. BTW, we've done several Reggae songs over the years. On the first one it made Janice's head spin to work out Reggae phrasing as the beat emphasis is so different. But ... experimentation is fun -- kinda like jumping off a cliff sometimes but fun J&B

But ... experimentation is fun -- kinda like jumping off a cliff sometimes but fun J&B Thanks for listening and I appreciate the feedback. It seems the consensus was to ditch the country reggae style, however, I just got my song evaluation back from NSAI for "Don't Let Me Let You Down" and I was honored to have it recognized as a "One to Watch" song. The "Cool contemporary country reggae influenced melodies and feel" (according to the evaluator) helped it to stand out. Now I am not sure I want to change the style before pitching. Anyways, something for me to think on. Na zdrowie! Dewey

Hi, Dewey. Good write, some nice lines and the title delivers nicely. Memorable melody and arrangement as well. "Say you'll always love me" feels rushed, which for me is out of place for an otherwise laid-back feel, but that's a minor nit. Fun listen!

I like it. Really cool song. I tend to agree with Floyd and the others on this regarding the style. Everything is really well done and I kinda liked that island groove but I think it's kinda off base for the song and it's topic. Nothing in the lyric alluded to reggae or island life. That's the only disconnect I felt as I listened.
I really like that title and how well you wrote the lyrics to fit nicely.
Well done.

Dewey...I love the hook (title)...it's a great play on words that is clever and a perfect idea for a love song...really well sung and produced...you took your great lyrics and gave them a great palate (melody) to be painted on...I also like the reggae style...it keeps it light and airy...great spousal song!

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks
MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:
There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:
1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track
