Good Karma (YouTube)
If you don't have a premium Youtube account and wish to avoid ads here's a link to the video from our website.
Good Karma

We created this Janice "performance" video to support a small local park that is focused on creating and maintaining a habitat for butterflies and other pollinators. The park was created and is maintained by a wonderful group of volunteers. While we shot the videos of Janice ALL of the photos were taken by the park’s volunteers and they include some great photographers.

Their motto is “Celebrating Nature Brings Wings to Your Spirit & Peace to Your Soul.”

The tune is a remix with new vocals (including harmony) of “Good Karma” that we posted five years ago. Thanks to PG Music for all and PeterF for the guitar tracks. We appreciate your time to watch - hey it’s only 3 minutes smile

Janice: vocal, melody and arrangement
Bud: lyric, arrangement and the production stuff
Peter: guitar

Vocals: Rode NT1 mic > Scarlett Interface > Logic Pro > Nectar

The appearance of the flutterby says it all really.
Sweet, sweet narrative with a great message, cool smooth lilting melody, succinct arrangement & Peter's lead lines.
Love it.

Cheers

Hi Janice, Bud and Peter,

As robert wrote I also remember this song, but the remix is wonderful!
The piano gives a special mood to the song.
Janice and her doubles are great in it (as always)
I got some very good karma from it too.

What more can I say, beside saying I'm getting a bit sentimental listening to it.

Very comforting soundtrack for the beautiful video. Great photos, I know it is not easy to capture a flying butterfly. I wish that good karma will bless all those people who work hard to keep nature flourishing by giving pollinators a place to do their daily chores. And Janice is a shining singing flower in that park smile

Man, you guys are always on my playlists. Outstanding as always. My dogma was run over by my karma. This is such a wonderful treat. Surely putting you three together always makes for the best music. [Well, right after your song played on YT, Bela Fleck and Billy Strings showed up --they're pretty good too.] Love the video too. Mix, performance --heck, everythoing about this is quality that can only come from good karma.

Enjoy whatever happens!

I feel like the saying "you make beautiful music together" was a phrase specifically coined for you three!

Music is, obviously, beyond the scope of any one part. It always astounds me when people manage to make everyone of those parts work so well together that you kind of forget they are separate pieces at all.

In my opinion music comes down to one thing. Emotion. That may seem overly simplistic, but ultimately I feel that is what it is.

I only say that because this song left me with the best of emotions. It even gives me hope for humanity, a giving freely spirit and gratitude. I think these are needed now as much as maybe some of the worst times.

Thank you for creating a wonderful environment to feel that way. smile

J&B...great track...super vocals and mix...I love the piano intro and accompaniment...though I am neither Buddhist or Hindu (the philosophies from which the concept of karma comes) I do believe that the principle of sowing and reaping is at work in everyone's life...your projects are always so professional sounding and so well performed and produced as usual! I always love hearing them.

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track
