I've tried the ACW on this song and I can't find a style that fits. The chords are simple, but I can't find the proper BEAT that supports this song. It feels almost like a 1/2 time Rock Ballad, but those styles do NOT work with this song. Does anyone have a BIAB song/style for this song?
I think I need the BIAB sleuths to figure out HOW I would select a style for this song. I am working with BIAB 15 for the next week until I can upgrade to BIAB 24, THANKS.
BTW, The sheet music and ACW BOTH showed the BPM as 148.

That don't sound like Rock and Roll to me. Thats a country ballad!

I *think* I found a 74 bpm Country Ballad that sort of resembles his song. I just can’t understand how the bpm could be 148 according to the ACW & sheet music? This is the stuff that that I can’t comprehend when it comes to music? I’m just self taught by using BIAB and sheet music *if* I know the song to begin with.

Trax Two beats to the bar is pretty common in Bluegrass and Country music. 74 BPM at four beats to the bar is the same as 148 BPM at two beats to the bar but the feel can be slightly different. PG Music added a feature a few years ago where 4/4 notation can be printed as 2/2. Many RealTracks can be played at half time or double time so RealTracks can adjust to this counting oddity.

I think you are both right. It sounds better at 74 bpm Country Ballad in BIAB. Trax

Muzic Trax, The 2/2 beat is called Cut Time or Alla breve. +++ HERE +++ is an interesting Wikipedia article about it.

Can you tell me what style you are using? I am always looking for good styles like that! Yes, this stuff can turn your head around, the half time vs. double time or straight time stuff. I have found that in my cases where I am scratching my head, the drums are the issue: they are playing faster (or slower) than the band. So the drums might be in 148, but the instruments are essentially in a more laid back 74 feel, say, in this example, Or the opposite, the drums are in 74, but the instruments are in 148. You can always get it if you mess around with enough stuff, but it rarely works to find a song where the sheet music says 148, and it has a 74 feel and you try to work with everything in 148. You will go mad. I do separate beds. Oh wait, just missed this: " Trax[ Two beats to the bar is pretty common in Bluegrass and Country music. 74 BPM at four beats to the bar is the same as 148 BPM at two beats to the bar but the feel can be slightly different. Note to self, try that out!! So send me that style!!
