I wrote this song several years ago, and was never able to do a decent Demo due to lack of technology, vocal skill, and time. I finally got all those problems solves using BIAB, Cubase, SynthV, and the tools available today.

January 17, 2024 User Showcase Song - An Elf's Funeral

Comments were made about my Bridge to Nowhere that Dwarfs would fight with the Elfs because they could not enter the Mystical Elfland. Well that fight did happen and all but one Elf made it to safety. This is the song they played at that Elf's funeral.

Sometimes things just fall into place. The weather is so bad here that BobH couldn't make it over today; we get together every Sunday to play guitar. So after shoveling out my driveway I had an idea for this song. I found a BiaB style I liked, chose the instruments, then played my parts, and did the mix. All of this happened in about four hours.

Before anyone asks I use the combination of those controllers because it gives me more simultaneous control over the selected patch. My right hand can play the note(s) while my left can control the nuances like tremolo, vibrato, slurs,etc. If I desire I can also program my MIDI foot pedal controller for more options. I can also play polyphonically while the wind controller is only one note at a time. The wind controller does have it benefits so I will be using that also. I had to experiment so this is my first time with the breath controller.

His songwriting credits include "Twist and Shout", "Piece of My Heart", "Here Comes the Night", "Hang on Sloopy", "Cry to Me" and "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love", and his productions include "Baby, Please Don't Go", "Brown Eyed Girl" and "Under the Boardwalk".

He died on December 30, 1967, aged just 38 of a congenital heart condition.

New with the DAW Plugin Version 6.0, released with Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows: the Reaper® Panel!

This new panel offers built-in specific support for the Reaper® DAW API allowing direct transfer of Band-in-a-Box® files to/from Reaper® tracks!

When you run the Plugin from Reaper®, there is a panel to set the following options:
-BB Track(s) to send: This allows you to select the Plugin tracks that will be sent Reaper.
-Destination Reaper Track: This lets you select the destination Reaper track to receive media content from the Plugin.
-At Bar: You can select a bar in Reaper where the Plugin tracks should be placed.
-Start Below Selected Track: This allows you to place the Plugin tracks below the destination Reaper track.
-Overwrite Reaper Track: You can overwrite previous content on the destination Reaper track.
-Move to Project Folder: With this option, you can move the Plugin tracks to the Reaper project folder.
-Send Reaper Instructions Enable this option to send the Reaper Instructions instead of rendering audio tracks, which is faster.
-Render Audio & Instructions: Enable this option to generate audio files and the Reaper instructions.
-Send Tracks After Generating: This allows the Plugin to automatically send tracks to Reaper after generating.
-Send Audio for MIDI Track: Enable this option to send rendered audio for MIDI tracks.

This is a remake of one of the first songs Christiane Spruit and I wrote together, back in 2016. A couple of the old-timers here might remember it

Goodbye

The vocal is new, and I also redid my guitar solo. The remake also has Marty Straub (BabuMusic) on bass.

We did the remake around 9 months ago. I wasn't going to post it seeing as it's been posted before, but my mother just recently passed, and I see that B.D. Thomas recently lost his mother also, so it seemed like an appropriate time.

This is a song about losing someone you love, so we dedicate it to anyone who has lost a loved one.

January 05, 2024 User Showcase Song - Whispering Asia

This is the second of two songs I put together with the new Chinese instruments from BIAB 2024.

Whispering Asia

This one has fuller and richer backing tracks and is noticeably more subdued. Noel Adams and I exchanged some thoughts about this particular song as I brought it to fruition. To make a long story short, I went on YouTube and watched/listened to clips from a couple of Chinese romance movies for some insight and guidance on how to make a few changes to better catch the Asian mood.

After a few adjustments to my original track, this is where I ended up. It's a soundscape for a romantic setting. Let me know what you think.

I started this song with a synthmaster sound containing an arpeggiator and midi chord generation. I added another one and a percussion loop. In the original style there was an acoustic bass which I replaced with a realtrak funk bass and I removed the organ to put in an electric piano.
