A Band-in-a-Box 2010 Build 295 update patch is available:
Band-in-a-Box for Windows updates

Improved: TempoSwapping Improved:
- There is an additional option to replace the current RealTracks selections with similar ones that would work better at the current tempo. This is an option available by pressing the Realtracks Toolbar button- Select Better RealTracks.
- Yellow Message now appears if RealTracks are selected, but better RealTracks are available for the current tempo. (this message can be disabled in Prefs-RealTracks)
- RealTracks button on the toolbar now shows a menu, RealTracks picker, RealTracks Prefs, and Select Better RealTracks for this tempo.

Changed: Half Time/ Double Time changed
- The option to automatically half/double time realtrack has been removed, and replaced with a manual option, so the user has control over when/how Realtracks would be halfTimed/Double timed. The previous method of "automatic half/double time" of RealTracks caused some problems, because people wouldn't know when the RealTracks were going to be half/double timed.
To do this, visit the RealTracks assign Dialog, and use the new comboBox called "TimeBase", and set that to Normal (Default) / Half-Time / Double-Time.

Improved: Drag Drop improved.
- The feature to Drag and Drop tracks from BB to DAW sequencers has been improved. Some DAWs (Ableton, Nuendo) don't yet support direct drag/drop of tracks that aren't generated yet. So a DragDrop panel has been added to the top left of the screen. This allows you to Drag n Drop to these sequencers in 2-steps. First drag to the DragDrop panel, then when it turns green, drag/drop from the panel to your AW (Ableton, Nuendo). Note that for other sequencers (RealBand, Sonar) and Windows Explorer, you can still DragDrop directly from the track to the DAW in 1-step.

Fixed: Edit - Undo. In certain situations after a delete chord command, edit-undo stopped working.

Fixed: Nashville Notation - can now enter 'flat 3', flat 6 etc. chords - type 3bm7 for Flat 3 minor 7th.

Build #295 has now become a 'regular' update, not beta. No change in file size.

Are you saying this is new behavior just from Build #295?

If so, you could look in the /BB/Backup folder and revert to a prior build.

If not, please elaborate.

The problems started with BB2010, never had that with 2009. While playing a tune with realtracks the system will overload: the BB interface stops responding (can't quit or even press Stop) and the music will play on until a complete crash involving a BSOD with the infamous "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" message.

I'm using ASIO4ALL 2.9 that worked fine until BB2010.

Hi,

Does that happen if you disable fast generation of RealTracks, in the RealTracks Settings window?

Mine too will start to freak out, play distorted and not stop. I have found that if I hit the escape key and wait it out, eventually (most of the time it will stop) I have noticed that when this happens my processor is in major overload. To avoid this sometimes I can turn off McAfee (a major memory user) with the task manager and any other memory suckers that I don't need at the time. This helps but the only way Iv'e found to get those songs/styles to play is to open them up in realband once they are finished and then they don't eat the processor.

I have experienced the same exact symptom (with 2010). At least twice. If it ever happens again, I will disable fast gen and see if it recurs.

I haven't tried that yet. I've updated Asio4all to 2.10 beta with no improvement.

OK, disabling fast generation seems to have made it more stable, but it seems that some Realtracks instruments have disappeared! Like acoustic guitar strumming 65: generation will go up to 75% then an error message will pop up saying the track is missing! Weird.

Yes, I've been having the same problem and had no idea what was wrong (I guess nobody knows yet), but at least is a relieve to know is not just me. I hope the problem is solved soon.
