Hi Pete, is Oliver your dad? I have started previewing the lessons on this site for Jazz Guitar. I really like what I am hearing thus far. I particularly like his teaching technique. He is very logical and has provided some nice practical exercises for building the particular muscle training skills.

Some questions I have are: you note the streaming audio is set to 28Kbps obvious to enable all internet connections to access. How about the product itself? Is it a higher audio quality? Though there is mention of the fretboard, is it of Mr. Gannon playing the board? Or, is it just a computer generated fretboard?

One last question on the program. You name the course by Volumes 1 & 2. However, the article discusses 60 lessons. Are all 60 lessons on Volume 1 and any enhanced lessons/media on Volume 2? Or, are the 61 lessons divided into 2 volumes? Sounds like a goofy question. But, I want to be sure whether to order Volume 1 or both to get all lessons.

This may be what I am looking for. Being a guitar instructor I never stop wanting to learn myself. I promised myself after purchasing your BIAB that I would become more intimately acquainted with the Jazz genre than I have in the past. And Mr. Gannon's approach to teaching is also educational to me as an instructor. I would use his plan one day once I can get a comfortable grasp of this myself.

Man, it must have been great to hang out with a player like that growing up. I hope my daughter will appreciate the passion I have in my recordings so that she would be proud of me and perhaps put my work as a part of her web site too!

Thanks,
RickeG

RickeG,

I've got these - the Jazz Guitar master class vol 1 is lessons 1-43, vol2 is lessons 44-61. I've been ever so slowly making my way thru these, and have enjoyed them a lot. The fretboard is the same automated fretboard you can see in BIAB. I expect their 30 day money back guarantee would apply...

Oliver Gannon is Dr. Peter Gannon's brother, who is one of Canada's premier jazz guitarists.

Bad cat.

Most, if not all of that MIDI fretboard stuff was recorded, by Oliver, in realtime to MIDI using a MIDI guitar pickup or full-on MIDI guitar setup.

Oops, sorry Pete. You see how one can make the wrong interpretations based on what we do. I assumed being you were the comoputer programmer and Oliver was the instrumentalist I falsely assumed you were the son of rather than the brother of. My apologies!

In any event, thanks for explaining the fret board. The reason I asked is because during the BIAB fret board the notes go faster than I can blink. What I was hoping was something I could capture. But, that'll work. As I mentioned, I really liked his instructor skills. My hopes is to have a down load copy this month depending where my budget falls in for March! We music teachers have to watch every penny!

Thanks again for the resource,
RickeG
